I had the DS1 which was replaced with a DS2. I also have an AS10 as a backup machine which I use occasionally. I have three profiles in OSCAR. The old DS1 is gone, but it's good to have the old data for reference.

The biggest power consumer on a CPAP is the humidifier and heated hose. If you can do without those the CPAP will draw much less power and a lesser of a backup power source would be needed. As noted most filters available CPAP's can be purchased at reasonable cost.
