Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Awesome! Didn’t know that. I will do that tomorrow thank you! If you don’t mind me asking a How often does your O2 drop during sleep with the CPAP? And how low? Still trying to get a grasp on normalcy.

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Thanks Pugsy. I agree with you. Unfortunately, just had an appointment with a sleep neurologist that said “just give it time”. And said I should let them worry about the data. Don’t worry about my O2 levels. (Has no doctor even heard of Oscar?) But I have a in lab sleep Study booked for Monday out o...

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Except I’m basically awake. It’s at the point now where if I’m just relaxing and don’t think about breathing - sometimes my breath gets shallow and my O2 drops while fully awake. It’s not obstruction anything. And it never happens during the night. Only when I first try to go to sleep. Once sleep, n...

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Last - had another 4/5 times where my O2 dropped under 85 and woke me up. First wake-up was around 12:05am Second wake-up was around !2:20am Here is a 45min clip of last night going to bed. And then here it is expanded for a 5 min interval. These are two separate 5 min intervals where the same thing...

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Another good night. AHI is a little higher but I don't even care about that right now. Just about being able to sleep and not have my O2 drop.

Why 0.5mg of Xanax would keep my O2 from dropping, I have absolutely no idea but will take it.

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Yup, tried both thumbs and both index fingers. What was weird is two different oximeters had me at 88% just laying down last night, before I even started to try to sleep or put the CPAP on. Didn't think that was supposed to happen. Nothing surprises me anymore!

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

**Update - last night was one of the best sleeps I have had in the 3 weeks since this started. I took the 0.5mg Xanax about 45mins before bed. Must have slept through the first O2 drop and it was pretty smooth after that. I've had good nights like this before, and then right back to bad. So staying ...

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

I dunno, maybe? I have had it happen in a ton of different positions. I know it almost always wakes me up when it gets that low too. My PCP just recommended 0.5mg of Xanax. So I will try that I guess. Pugsy, I really appreciate you looking at this with me. I feel like there's no next step to take an...

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Just held my breath (for about a minute). And o2 never went below 98%. Even if I move a ton, never had it drop. Here is a picture of what I use. Not a clip on but wraps around the finger. Hasn’t had any issues with registering. This is why I’m concerned about this and posting so much. Just doesn’t s...

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

Pugsy. This has happened for weeks now. No matter the position. Sometimes with people watching me with my hand stretched out. It never "loses contact" any other time. Ive tried working out with it, being awake, moving around. The only time the O2 reads this low is when I am in sleep wake transitions...

Here's the O2 readout from my oximeter last night. Almost all the drops were while I was attempting to go to sleep, not already sleeping.

Re: O2 drop with CPAP

That’s the thing. My AHI is under 5 for the past week. Sometimes under 2 or 3. But this only happens when I’m falling asleep. Not in the middle of the night. Sleep wake transitions. Just tried to go to sleep tonight. My body Woke me up because my O2 was 84 and stayed there for a bit. Machine didn’t ...

O2 drop with CPAP

Hey guys - So I have a recording Pulse Oximeter and my O2 levels are still dropping to mid/high 80's sometimes 20 times a night. Mostly during the times I am first trying to get to sleep. Is this a normal thing? Does this happen to anyone else? Is the answer to go on oxygen or does your body get use...

Re: New, Severe, Really Concerned

Also, so every sleep doctor I’ve talked to says “you must have had this without knowing it” yet, before this started last month - I only needed 5/6 hours of sleep and felt good. Now, with the CPAP, I need to be in bed for 10/11 hours to feel okay. How is this possible too? Is this common for anyone?
