Re: Settings for a new Resmed ASV
UAs...pretty much OAs and likely awake breathing. Resmed ASV machines report all apneas as UA (unclassified) but assume they are obstructive. So you can see the pressure jumps up after every apnea. I'd be interested to have a closer look at that initial cluster - It goes on for over half an hour an...

Re: Settings for a new Resmed ASV
I agree with the others that the default settings are a reasonable place to start, with adjustments to follow. You'll likely find that the starting EPAP and PS are too low, but let's see the data first. I'd like to ask about that big cluster of obstructive apneas in the first sleep period on your ch...

Re: Autoset too smooth
Johnb69, we need more information to address your problem. First, we need to know why you are on a bilevel machine and not an ordinary CPAP / APAP. Do you have very high pressure, or a condition like COPD or central apnea? Which particular model VPAP do you have? There are VPAP S, Auto, Adapt and ot...

WELCOME TO THE FORUM! But please don't SHOUT. Can you give us some details that might help us help you, such as make and model of machine, how old it is, whether you're using a heated hose, what type of mask you're using. You might be experiencing a phenomenon known as "rainout" where water condense...

Re: In Taiwan still isn't accessed for oscar
The 403 error could indeed be happening at the Apnea Board server end.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 11:41 pmIs this a censorship matter or a computer security issue?
I have seen this message in this country due to program incompatibility.
To the OP: Have you tried the "official" Oscar address? https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

Re: Spots on pillow and sheets
It looks like blood to me. Do you have any small cuts or sores which might have bled? Or maybe a very slight blood nose? Much as I despise the SoClean, I don't think we can blame it for this. However in my view they are a complete waste of money. Furthermore your warranty will be void if your machin...

Re: Questions about ResMed Lumis 150 and IPAP pressure
Luckily she should be offering me a new kind of a machine now, not the Lumis 150 ... I really don't think the Lumis is a problem - it's effectively the same machine as your VPAP in a different box. However there are a lot of settings that all need to be correct for you to get effective and comforta...

Re: Questions about ResMed Lumis 150 and IPAP pressure
There's no need to be scared about the change - the newer Aircurve 10 ST and your existing S9 VPAP-ST use very similar algorithms to achieve the same result. It should be a fairly easy matter for the tech configure your new machine with the same settings as the old one, in which case you probably wo...

How come we are the ugly step children and only get 2 years?  Oh, there are so many answers to that question... but I want to stay friends with you all. :D Resmed machines in Oz come with a 2 year warranty but if you sign up to their support site https://www.sleepvantage.com.au you get a...

Re: Resmed S9 Humidifier error
These humidifiers are pretty reliable but will occasionally kark it. I had the circuit board replaced on mine due to the same error (it was about 4 yr 10 months old, so still just in warranty). Running a toxic corrosive gas through your device will not do any good to the components and Resmed specif...

Re: New-Scared-Vain-Machines?
I won't expand on the excellent advice given above. However, before you go out and buy a machine it would probably be a good idea to understand your particular needs. You might just have plain vanilla obstructive apnea (the most common kind) or there might be complications like central / mixed apnea...

Re: Some success at long last!
When we look at the early charts, it's apparent that most of your apneas were coming in clusters, even with the pressure maxxed out. This is often a sign of positional apnea - especially when your chin drops down to your chest and puts stress on the windpipe. If you were trying to prop yourself up o...
