Re: Do I need BiPAP?
The ENT said I do not have a deviated septum. I do have allergies (dustmites, mold), so I keep an air purifier going. I occasionally get acid reflux, but it is rarer and mild (for now). I notice that sometimes one nostril gets slightly congested while the other nostril is clear. WHile I can probably...

Re: Do I need BiPAP?
Thanks a lot, Pugsy! I get that mixed up a lot on the dreaming... I sometimes think remembering my dreams means I had better sleep, when in fact it is the opposite (awakenings during the dream). I know this happens in the early morning. Just when we think we have everything figured out, it always se...

Re: Do I need BiPAP?
Thank you Pugsy for the quick response! I had a feeling those were post-arousal CAs, but needed some confirmation. I definitely need to drill down the reason for my restless sleeping. No new medications, but perhaps it could be an uncomfortable sleep setup with the wedge + cervical pillow. While goo...

Re: Do I need BiPAP?
Different Night where I clearly feel more tired - Legitimate Obstructive Apnea at same settings. Given occasional OAs and some flow limitation on nights without OAs, is it worth trying a higher pressure of 9.6 again? My concern is the aerophagia boogeyman that stopped me last time I tried. Sue may b...

Re: Do I need BiPAP?
Thank you all for your help with this journey. I have studied extensively and am checking back in to see if anyone has dealt with a similar conundrum. In short, my sleep has mostly been good, but I have weeks at a time where my subjective test tells me I am not feeling well-rested (only okay). I wel...

Re: Do I need BiPAP?
Apologies about the bad screenshots. It's been about 2 more weeks, so I wanted to post 2 more "typical" nights of data. I don't feel bad by any stretch, but I get mild aerophagia symptoms (diarrhea, bloating). I'm afraid to lower pressure because I still have infrequent OAs at this pressure, and som...

Do I need BiPAP?
Hi Everyone, I am 28 years old, started CPAP about 4 years ago after doing an at-home sleep test which showed I have severe OSA. I never did the full in-lab study. After starting CPAP, this forum (shoutout to Pugsy) was IMMEASURABLE in helping me get acclimated to my treatment. I felt reborn after s...

Re: Help with evaluating data
Hi everyone - I really need some help. I'm back in titration mode trying to figure out my next steps. The side-sleeping experiment was short-lived after a few days of back pain and struggles getting comfortable sleeping on my side (I didn't get any good sleep). I may revisit that in the future once ...

Re: Help with evaluating data
MASSIVE UPDATE: I am switching to side sleeping! Or anything to avoid supine sleep. These are the results of my home sleep test using PR AliceOne kit. My apnea is more than 2x as bad while supine than in any other position... clearly supine position (for whatever anatomical reason - still don't know...

Re: Help with evaluating data
Thanks Pugsy! That will be the plan for the next few weeks/months until I make up my mind. I will gradually increase min pressure 0.5cm at a time until I start feeling aerophagia problems again. At that point, I will try A-flex 2 and 3 respectively to see if it curbs the aerophagia problems at those...

Re: Help with evaluating data
Thank you Pugsy. I actually didn't know that but I just read through your post and this is very informative. I reviewed my data for the last few nights and I think I am right where you insinuated in your last paragraph - I still see 2-3 OAs and mostly Hypopneas each night. Because the PR machine see...

Re: Help with evaluating data
Hi all: Upon taking a closer look at my nightly data and each breathe, it looks like i'm having so many of these "arousals" prior to an OA or CA being flagged. I'm confident that these arousals are happening frequently and that my sleep is being horribly disrupted. I wake up with headaches, etc even...

Re: Help with evaluating data
I forgot to include this screenshot, but it was about 3 weeks ago when I had minimum pressure of 7 and A-flex 1. I distinctly recorded that I felt really good compared to any other night recently when I woke up. The starkest difference to me is that there was no leaking that night as opposed to thes...

Re: Help with evaluating data
Thank you so much Pugsy! I have an inclination that you are right on the money in terms of leaking causing arousals which I don't consciously remember waking up to, but maybe causes me to shift positions or move. Any disruptions in sleep continuity will cause me to feel crappier the next day. I won'...
