Re: At what BMI does OSA disappear?
Zero, and it's all gone! Jim OMG, lol!! One can only hope to get that low. BTW, I looked it up, and lightest weight adult on record is 4.7 lb. In that case he probably has OSA, hope he keeps losing and gets to zero . Jim LOL again! [In case anybody is wondering, the person who weighed only 4.7...

Re: OT: COVID-19: Is a CPAP/BiPAP machine a respirator?
No, regular cpap/apap/bilevel machines are not respirators or ventilators. They lack the power to be able to force you to breathe if you don't/can't breathe on your own. Now they might make your breathing a little easier with some setting tweaking but you still have to initiate the breath or be abl...

No, but you are very good at believing crap posted on the internet. Jim I will continue to use mine, but I won't be buddying up on one.. I read this in the NY Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/12/us/hospitals-coronavirus.html "Another unanticipated development: More moderate forms of bre...

Re: At what BMI does OSA disappear?
This is an example of wishful thinking. Untreated apnea no doubt contributed to your weight gain. If you stop using cpap, I promise all the weight will return--plus all their "peeps". Speaking of peeps--Easter is coming. Those little devils are hard to rebuke. You know, I never thought of that. No ...

Re: At what BMI does OSA disappear?
Congratulations on your weight loss! Here is information about CPAP and Medicare: https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/continuous-positive-airway-pressure-devices There’s no way to tell ahead of time whether reaching a particular weight would mean the end of apnea for you. There are plenty of us who a...

Re: At what BMI does OSA disappear?
My OSA is getting better without CPAP??? This is very doubtful. If you are remembering your dreams, that indicates you are waking up right after the dream. The ideal solution is to be able to dream with out remembering them. But those three times I just lay down without the intention of falling asl...

OT: COVID-19: Is a CPAP/BiPAP machine a respirator?
I read that if hospitals get short on respirators/ventilators for COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus , they will first share the machine between two patients. The second thing they will do is use CPAP's and BiPAP's for respirators. Is this true? If so, I am relieved, since I already have my own CPAP to...

At what BMI does OSA disappear?
I started out in November of last year at 445 lb. I now weigh 337. I still have another 190 lb. or so to go. According to my calculations, I should reach my goal weight around October of this year. Yes, this is fantastical, but three times in my adult life I have lost 200-280 lb. rapidly (with my sp...
