Re: Best masks for side sleeping?

Thanks for your comments, everyone. @CG, I agree that the joint material is not hard per se, but I would say it definitely feels harder than the rest of the tubing. I had no trouble sleeping on my side with this mask for the first month or so, and then suddenly started getting headaches when sleepin...

Re: Best masks for side sleeping?

How about any mask that doesn't have the plastic joints on the side? There is no mask that is designed for side sleepers..Trial and error. I am primarily a full face mask user that sleeps 90% on his side. I have used Quattro, F20, Simplus, Vitera and the P10. all without the problems you mention. T...

Best masks for side sleeping?

Hi all, I've been wearing a Philips DreamWear full-face mask for the past 6 months. In the beginning, it worked brilliantly for me and helped me get my AHI down from ~1.5 to ~0.5 compared to my previous mask (a Philips Amara View). More recently, I've been waking up with a dull headache every time I...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Hi everyone, A quick update/question since my last post. I bought a shirt with a zippered back pocket/sleeve from Amazon about a month and a half, and have been wearing it to bed every night since with a plastic water bottle inside the sleeve (I've found this better than a tennis ball). My average A...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Thanks for your suggestions, @happypappy. I will definitely be looking into Xlear. Could you also tell me what kind of nasal congestion you have? Mine seems to be purely inflammatory, so there is nothing to "flush out" per se. I've tried saline solutions, Flonase, Nasacort, Azelastine, Montelukast, ...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Hi again everyone, I've gotten AHIs of < 2 for the past 3 nights by keeping a plastic bottle under the back of my shirt (gotta improvise until I get the actual product I ordered from Amazon!). Strangely enough, though, last night I woke up with a bad headache in the middle of the night, which thankf...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Thanks for the tips. Just got something from Amazon to help with the positional therapy. I may try to wear my bike helmet on my back until then haha

Re: CPAP not helping?

Got a new mask (DreamWear Full Face Mask) and tried it on last night for the first time. Feels more comfortable than the Amara View I have, but hasn't had a noticeable impact on my sleep results. Had an AHI of 5.80 last night despite a minimum pressure of 10 and 90% pressure of 14.5. I had a cluster...

Re: CPAP not helping?

The CAs are strange to me. They seem to happen in between OAs, and from the Flow Rate graph alone I cannot personally tell the difference between the two. Here's an example, where the two OAs at the beginning look largely identical to the CAs on the right:

Re: CPAP not helping?

Alright, here's last night: https://i.imgur.com/jnJ4pIj.png Tried my best to continue at 5:30 am despite a stuffy nose, but it got almost 100% blocked and I had to take the mask off to go back to sleep (the congestion disappeared within 10-15 min). Anyway, this time I made the effort to write down t...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Thanks everyone for your suggestion. @zonker I used Flonase for about a year without any noticeable improvement, and have recently changed to Nasacort to see if it works better. So far Afrin is the only thing that has worked for me, although it causes horrible rebound congestion the next night after...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Not a great night last night. Everything went well for the first two hours, but then I woke up at around 3 am with a very stuffy nose. Since starting CPAP, I will occasionally wake up in the middle of the night with swollen sinuses and an almost completely blocked nose. Never had this before CPAP, a...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Things went a lot better last night with a min pressure of 9. Graph below. https://i.imgur.com/3SIPkta.png I don't recall waking up on my back and woke up on my side, so maybe there was a positional factor helping. Will have to spend a few more nights at this pressure to see the average result. I di...

Re: CPAP not helping?

Hi everyone, Tried out 8 of minimum pressure last night. I woke up feeling fine, but the AHI is still unchanged at a 4.92 and the clusters of OAs are still present. I do not recall waking up during the night. See the graphs below. Overview: https://i.imgur.com/7D027dr.png Zoomed-in view: https://i.i...
