Re: CPAP and Medicare
I transitioned last year to Medicare. The sleep Dr said a sleep study was required and scheduled it. The DME provider said it wasn't, that all they needed was the original sleep study (which they had) and a note from the Dr saying I was using CPAP and still needed it. That worked. No new sleep study...

Re: Anyone used CPAP while fighting Covid?
I confirmed covid on Friday. The last two nights I’ve had mild insomnia, stuffy nose, aches for a day. During the day it hasn’t been bad but sleep has been almost impossible. Switching between masks. Restless. It helped me to take one sudafed before going to bed to temporally clear the congestion f...

Re: Resmed 11 Heated Hose
I like the heated hose and when got the Airsense 11 I bought one at the same time. It seems to help with dry mouth and throat issues. Unfortunately, I think they are hard to find right now. I got one at my local DME provider even though it's not in stock online anywhere.

Re: My 2 Cents
I wonder if part of this experience is because many people on CPAP are there only due to employment requirements. I was as I was in the transportation field overseen by the DOT. At the time I was glad to get help, but I admit my big emphasis in the process was make sure all the T's were crossed in o...

Re: Resmed N30i Cushion change in Material?
Cpap 2017, thanks for your response but also concerned about having those buds in your ears all night. I tried regular ear plugs and for me it seemed to enhance the turbulence. Yea, it's a bit of trial and error. I'm a side sleeper and I found one that doesn't bother me on that side. Earplugs are q...

Re: Resmed N30i Cushion change in Material?
I have used both the new and original n30i cushions and I prefer the original. I do like that the new one diffuses the air much better and quieter. I have two issues: For me the new design feels more difficult for me to exhale almost like I am starved for air. And secondly I love the mask but I am ...

Re: Do you use ramp?
I tried it the first few days but found that just as I was drifting off it would ramp up. The change would wake me up. That was several years ago. Haven't since.

I assume the ResMed has heard complaints about the new style and material.

Re: Why do some people hate full face masks?
I've had two basal cell carcinomas on my nose and two mohs surgeries to fix. I was forced to try a cushion that didn't go on top of the nose. I gave the nasal masks a valiant effort but due to nose structure and congestion could make it work. I got around to the F30i and haven't gone back.

Re: Resmed Aircurve Water Tank Mod
Maybe since the waterer bottle doesn't have any way for pressure to escape, it acts in concert under the pressure of the main tank.

That might be a more elegant solution then as long as it could be made stable.GrumpyHere wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 9:55 amThe same way that those water coolers with the five gallon bottles work - air pressure.

Re: Resmed Aircurve Water Tank Mod
Refilling the tank without dumping the water is fine if one uses distilled water. But, if one uses tap water, it will dramatically increase the mineral buildup. I use tap water, dump and refill every night, mineral build up isn't a problem. someone made a mod to allow one to add a bigger tank that ...
