Re: Teeth Hurting After CPAP
You may have to try another mask. I found my front teeth to be pressured uncomfortably by a Wisp mask. I switched to the resmed N30i nasal mask and that helped a lot. I am fortunate that I seem to not have issues with mouth breathing. It is a bit of a crapshoot to find a good fit. Keep at it though,...

Re: Is a CPAP the only way to get a nightly AHI?
Fascinating.... I had braces for years, had eight permanent teeth removed to make room for the 24 I have left (which are basically perfect. Thanks Dr. Langwith). Until I read these posts, it never even occurred to me the correlation. Extraction orthodontics. It's fallen out of favor. A few years ag...

Re: Is a CPAP the only way to get a nightly AHI?
"It's not that the tongue is too large." In my case, I think that's all there is to it. The Mallampati score is high when the jaw is underdeveloped. One of my former sleep docs claimed to quite accurately diagnose OSA before the patient opened his mouth. She looked for underdeveloped jaws. Look at ...

Re: Airsense 10 APAP -- "Motor Life Exceeded, contact care provider" message, Also ? about Sleepyhead
hmmm, this is not great news. I have an S9 (no motor life exceeded message though). So I checked. Purchased 4/21/2010... I should probably get a script from the doc for a new machine. I just figured they run forever. They're machines, not Keith Richards. So I am now laughing out loud. Thanks for th...

Re: Newbie from Iowa
Keep track of how you feel during the day, maybe even jotting a daily note. This could include stuff like the stimulation of an "interesting" day at work. The reason I suggest this is that when your apnea is well treated, additional adjustments might depend primarily on your subjective sense of res...

Re: Newbie from Iowa
It's good news that your bathroom visits are less frequent. Are you yet seeing any change in your desire for day-time naps? I am not really sure on the nap situation yet. It's been an interesting week at work and I haven't had the time to even consider a car nap at lunch. I do not seem as tired dur...

Re: Newbie from Iowa
Good morning, Here are my last three days of readings. Pretty pleased so far. I am adjusting pretty well to the mask. Trips to the bathroom have been minimized. I plan on continuing at the 9.5 min and 20 max for a week and may revisit the minimum with perhaps an adjustment to 10. Thoughts? OSCAR 3-3...

Newbie from Iowa
Hello all, I am an early 50's male pretty much right in the sweet spot for a sleep apnea diagnosis. Overweight, thick neck, heavy snoring, anecdotal reports of interrupted breathing/gasping, etc. Through a combination of not particularly good reasons, I have not done a sleep study of any sort, not t...
