Re: Post-sigh apneas
What do you make of this one? No sigh, but some uneven breathing preceding it. Screen Shot 2020-04-07 at 23.31.32.png For whatever reason they occur, the sighs are probably reducing the amount of CO2 that tells the brain to breathe; hence the subsequent CAs. Your son's AHI is pretty good but could p...

Re: Post-sigh apneas
Those are all central apneas. The airway is open but there is no effort to breathe. A big gulp of air followed by holding of the breath for a short period of time. Maybe a turn over in bed or similar arousal related central apnea. It is not related to flow limitations which are obstructive in natur...

Post-sigh apneas
I'm seeing quite a few apneas preceded by a sigh. Sometimes up to 4 per hour during the night. Is it normal to sigh so much? Can this be an indication of some underlying problem? Flow limitations may be?
The sighs were present before the PAP too.

Re: Nose getting plugged by pediatric mask
A few things that might help: A hose hanger, if your son like many kids is a restless sleeper he’ll end up with the hose stuck and wrapped up around everything, you can get a hose hanger for $10 from Amazon which will help with this. Do you use one for you son? Do you find it keeps the hose away fr...

Re: Nose getting plugged by pediatric mask
Hose management systems allow for the hose to move totally freely and actually lessen the chance of the hose wrapping around anything and the sleeping position doesn't matter one way or the other. It's up in the air and when tossing and turning it's always up in the air and can't wrap around anythi...

Re: Nose getting plugged by pediatric mask
Look at a hose hanger management for keeping the hose from ANY mask up overhead and that way it doesn't get wrapped around a person when tossing and turning. You can make your own or buy one. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=10640 https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pursleep-cozyhoze-boss-hose-...

Re: Nose getting plugged by pediatric mask
The pixi was horrible, the headgear kept slipping of his head and the mask was making a terrible noise, I was up half a night fixing it. Yesterday I adjusted the Wisp to be as loose as possible, and fixed the hose so it would be pushing the mask away from the face a little. It was better, I think, b...

Re: Nose getting plugged by pediatric mask
Most nasal masks tend to put pressure on my nose, triggering nasal congestion. The funny thing about Wisp is that it comes with one of two different front frames. The cloth one lets the cushion press on my nose, causing congestion. The silicone frame is stiffer which holds the cushion up so it does...

Re: Nose getting plugged by pediatric mask
Plus at this point we aren't for sure that it's simply the pressure on the nasal bridge area that is causing the congestion. It's a reasonable assumption but we don't know for sure. What else might be causing it? I think I might contact him and see what he thinks about a 5 year old trying the curre...

Re: Nose getting plugged by pediatric mask
SleepWeaver does make a pediatric cpap mask. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/circadiance-sleepweaver-advance-pediatric-cpap-mask It looks interesting! Does it put no pressure on the nose? I couldn't find a pic of how it looks on the side touching the nose. Is the Wisp being tried a Pediatric Wisp?...
