Re: Increased Central Airway Events

Hi Droo_d, My husband has been on apap for three years. He had terrible RLS for many years before he started pap use. After being on pap for some time he noticed lots of good changes. One was that his RLS just went away. We're both really happy about this. Maybe yours will go away too. Wish that wa...

Re: Increased Central Airway Events

First figure out if they are even real or not. If not asleep...the best ASV in the world can't fix awake events but it might try and annoy the hell out of you with it trying to breathe for you. Remember one of these machine can tell if we are asleep or not. ASV is no different...it responds to irre...

Re: Increased Central Airway Events

You aren't having enough centrals to qualify for ASV and have insurance pay for it or even a regular bilevel machine (which may or may not resolve the centrals anyway). And some of them might not even be real asleep centrals anyway. Go here and watch the videos and learn to figure out if you were a...

Re: Increased Central Airway Events

I'm no expert on bilevel systems, but I don't think you're there yet. You need to zoom in to some of those CA events so we can see the flow rate that led up to them. Thanks! Don't know why I never thought about actually learning how to read the flow rate myself to see whether they're false CAs from...

Increased Central Airway Events

Since starting cpap therapy in January, I've been seeing high number of events for Central Airways and under ~0.30 for Obstructive. In terms of sleep quality, I definitely notice a huge difference compared to sleeping without the CPAP but I've had restless sleep and notice I wake up randomly althoug...

Re: Help! Higher Trending AHI & Aerophagia Returns

How's your overall sleep quality been lately? Waking more often during the night and/or having some trouble getting back to sleep? Any change in medications...new, removed, dosage??? Hi Pugsy! No change in medications, no new medications and nothing removed. No drugs or anything as well. Sleep qual...

Re: Help! Higher Trending AHI & Aerophagia Returns

Hate to ask, but have you possibly gained even a little weight lately - e.g. even 15 lbs? You'd be amazed at how much difference it can make! I'm SO glad you brought this up Julie. I didn't even think of this. Although I weigh the approximately the same, I currently DO NOT look the same because I'v...

Help! Higher Trending AHI & Aerophagia Returns

I noticed that in the month of April, my trending AHI has gone up considerably without me touching any settings for 2 months outside of Humidity: 4 to 5. In March, the Obstructive statistic never passed 1.00 on any of the days but it's happening frequently in April. Aerophagia has come back after 2....

Re: Need Some Sugestions

If anyone has a soft cervical collar, are you supposed to strap it skin tight to your neck or leave an adequate amount of room? i wear mine strapped tight as that seems to give me the most support. Thanks for the great tip! I believe it's been helping the inconsistent leak issue tremendously well. ...

Re: B pap machine not used needs home

Their little metallic hands can get in where human's can't. They are not necessary, probably not preferred, for tongue base reduction surgery. I looked into this with the ENT who did Gramp's turbinate reduction surgery. He does nasal surgery on tiny babies without a robot. He has no problem getting...

Re: Need Some Sugestions

I suggest lowering the epr to 2 full time it is likely to halve your CA's Yep! That did the trick. Thank you! :) Had a great night sleep last night and the lowest AHI I've had in over 2 weeks. I'll be sticking with the same settings and may experiment with EPR at 1 sometime later down the road. Fee...
