Re: Insomnia
in another of your threads, there was this- I found wearing it watching tv or reading helped me to get used to it and relax so that I could sleep with it at night. have you tried that? I did try to read when I had put myself in a separate room from hubby but then my machine started freaking me out ...

Insomnia
Hello friends, I hope everyone is faring well during this crazy time in our world. I have been on CPAP therapy since December 27 and after a rough start things are going quite well now. However, I absolutely cannot fall asleep on my own with the mask on. I have NEVER struggled with insomnia ever bef...

Re: It’s all in my head
mentally, I can’t get used to it. I’m embarrassed having to use the CPAP. I don’t want anyone to know I have a COAP and it makes me feel like a failure. Yes I know that sounds completely silly and immature but am wondering if anyone had a similar experience and any suggestions for getting “over it ...

Re: How do I deal with anxiety
My doctor prescribed me Xanax for anxiety. I take one every night before bed. Can I ask how long have you been on the Xanax? I have been on Ativan for a month and only have a month left, but the 2 nights I've tried to use the machine without it have been MISERABLE and I end up ripping it off after ...

Re: 1.Traveling, 2. Murmur 3. cleanig everyday?
True in the US, not necessarily so abroad as I found out to my dismay in Copenhagen when I had to consolidate my CPAP into my carryon. As soon as I got home, I did buy a travel CPAP, which packs in a softside lunchbox. It fits easily in my tote or backpack (personal item) if no carryon or carryon i...

Re: Getting use to CPAP masks.
Those are two very different things. CPAP creates a pressure. It's not like blowing wind. While I know they are two different things, I can relate that it completely feels like wind blowing in your face/nose. I've been working through this process for about a month and a half now and it's JUST now ...

Thank you so much zoocrewphoto, babydinosnoreless, and kteague! I'll get there eventually. It helps to hear from people who've been through this and have such great ideas/advice.

Not adjusting
Not sure I'm doing this right, but giving it a try. Hoping I followed the instructions correctly. I've been struggling (mostly mentally) for over a month now trying to get accustomed to this life-altering therapy. I am wondering if the "flow limitation" 2.42 last night might be why it seems like I'm...

Re: Snoring while on CPAP? (newbie)
Thank you all! I have an appointment with the DME tomorrow to hopefully up the beginning pressure. Hopefully that will help. Last night anxiety was horrible, almost 2 hours to feel like I wasn't having a heart attack and suffocating...without the mask!!! I'll get there eventually. Thanks for the fee...

Snoring while on CPAP? (newbie)
Greetings! Well, first of all, I DID IT! I made it 5 hours! Muscled through the crippling anxiety that was causing me to hyperventilate each time I put the mask on and obsess relentlessly throughout the day for the past week. Second, is it possible to still snore while on CPAP? I have the Philips Re...
