Re: mouth leaks problem

Hi , since last contact I increased pressure slowly with what I think were good results . Ten days ago I went to 13.5 from 13.0 but haven't really noticed much difference . My 30 day avg AHI is 2.9 . At both settings I usually sleep straight through without getting up and if I do wake up I drift off...

Re: mouth leaks problem

Great information , thanks . I had no idea dreaming (REM) had so much influence on OSA . I don't recall dreaming much last night and I woke up twice , once at 1:57 and again at 3:22 . Better AHI than previous taped nights . I do know most of my non taped wake ups are caused by leaks ( mouth flapping...

Re: mouth leaks problem

Three nights of taping and fairly sound sleep although I have woken up at approximately 1:00 am each night . Non taping nights I've also been sleeping quite soundly but without the 1:00 wake up and waking at 4:00 am . OSA is definitely worse when sleeping on my back and have been pretty successful a...

mouth leaks problem

I recently tried mouth taping to reduce major leakage but this caused AHI to jump considerably. Is there a happy medium when it comes to the leakage amount ?

Re: newbie problems

Hello everyone , It's been about a week since setting apap to 5-15 and I feel things are going well . All but one night ( 5.4 ahi) have been below 5.0 so is fairly consistent and I think that's a good sign . These are screen shots from last two nights and are fairly typical , what do you think ? scr...

Re: newbie problems

So much great information and encouraging thoughts . I'm sure you've heard it before but I'm so happy to be able to share my situation with people like you who understand what's going on . I'll continue to use APAP 9 to 15 and keep an eye on the awake portion of the graphs since as you say they can ...

Re: newbie problems

Hi all , I was going to ignore last nights chart because I had a lot of trouble sleeping and didn't think much could be gained from it but then decided it would be best to get your opinion . I woke up at 1:25 am then for a bathroom break at 2:30 . I was pretty much awake from then until 5:30 , no pr...

Re: newbie problems

Hi Pugsy , I believe overall I sleep well but I regularly wake up once a night to use the washroom usually between 2:00 and 4:00 am . I also change positions 3 or 4 times per night , I guess this would be considered waking but have no problem falling back to sleep .I do feel my sleep quality may suf...

Re: newbie problems

Hi jnk , the last time I tried APAP mode min 10 -max 17 got an AHI of 11.05 then min 10- max 14 got AHI 14.7 that sort of scared me off . I didn't try lower minimums so maybe that would help .

newbie problems

Hello all , I'm a newbie to cpap talk and have read up on what I should and shouldn't do but honestly this is the first time I've ever posted anything so this could be "messy" . I have been using my cpap machine for a little over a year and have had mixed results . I seem to have come to a point whe...
