Re: Has anyone here had mid-palatal tori removal?

No guarantee that it will work for me and I know people who've had EASE and another with EASE + MMA and still not gained the improvement they're seeking, but many of these folks have UARS and not plain OSA and UARS seems to be tougher to treat.

Re: Has anyone here had mid-palatal tori removal?

Most dentists only remove torii when they interfere with breathing or necessary intubation, because they GROW BACK. Removal is not permanent- -unless dental science has vastly improved since I asked about it. I barely notice mine and wouldn't be having it removed were it not a requirement for me to...

Has anyone here had mid-palatal tori removal?

I will cross-post to this to a few related groups. I am 35 years old and preparing for EASE for OSA with Dr. Kasey Li.. I need to have a small torus removed from my palate in order to be an EASE candidate. Dr. Stanley Liu has also confirmed that this would be necessary if I wanted DOME. I'm schedule...

Trouble Adjusting to ASV, UARS

A few days ago, I received my AirCurve 10 ASV from Secondwind. Diagnosis following in-lab study: UARS (AHI: 1.5, RDI: 21.7) I am experiencing challenges adjusting to the ASV. I find it hard to fully inhale sometimes, like there is resistance, and then sometimes also feels like it continues too long ...

Re: Purchasing an AirCurve 10 ASV Today

Update: Just purchased one from Secondwind and it only has 32 hours of runtime. I checked Craigslist and did not come across any current listings. If someone finds one, please feel free to post it here or DM me as I still have an arrival window for a better deal. Overall, this seems like a decent ba...

Purchasing an AirCurve 10 ASV Today

I have UARS and have experienced difficulty adjusting to my AirSense 10 so want to try an AirCurve 10 ASV. Secondwind CPAP has them in stock for $1319. I see Craigslist postings here and there on here, but cannot seem to find any at the moment. Any other deals/sources I should look at before moving ...

Re: Trouble Getting Started

Update: Tried with pressure level of 7 and EPR of 3 a few times since my last post and it did make a difference, but I still couldn't fall sleep. With my UARS situation, after listening to this podcast episode with Dr. Krakow interviewed by Dr. Park https://doctorstevenpark.com/krakowinsomnia I real...

Re: Trouble Getting Started

It sounds as though you might be using the ramp feature. If you are, I would suggest that you turn it off to see if that helps to avoid the pressure change that disturbs you. Try that and see if it helps. If it doesn't, I would recommend setting your max to equal your min to equal 7, still with the...

Re: Trouble Getting Started

Go here and download and read the clinical/provider manual for your machine if you haven't already. https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed-AirSense-10-for%20her.pdf EPR is the ResMed form of exhale relief. With the minimum pressure being 5 cm you aren't likely going to really experience it since t...

Re: Trouble Getting Started

Hello! Could you fill out your profile with your equipment? And are you using the Oscar software yet? And—sorry for so many questions—what are your pressure settings and EPR or flex setting? Thank you for your reply. I have updated my equipment in my profile. My ramp up time is set to auto, pressur...

Re: Trouble Getting Started

Talk to a real doctor..you may need a med for a while until you get used t the equipment Agreed and I am seeing a sleep doctor though, who prescribed the CPAP for this treatment, advised me to work with AeroCare, and then I have a followup appointment with him in June to maintain insurance complian...

Re: Trouble Getting Started

Hi Folks. I am writing to follow up again on this. I have been using the Philips DreamWear under the nose mask now and it is comfortable enough that I can wear for hours to practice during the day while awake. Right as I am about to fall asleep whether during a nap or if I try it at night, the press...

Trouble Getting Started

Hello, Upon the below feedback from my doctor, I got a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet with a warm air humidifier and an AirFit N20 mask. I have used it a few times during the day and can breath fine, but each time I try to sleep with it (3 nights) I simply cannot fall asleep, eventually take it off, the...

Re: My Sleep Study Results

Update: There was a waiting list for my sleep doctor and a second in lab sleep study at a new lab recommended by this doctor (noticeably more professional environment than the previous one), as well as COVID19 short-staff related delays, but I finally had a results-review call with my sleep doctor t...
