Re: Help choosing an SpO2 monitor
With the wrist unit, the finger probe only has to hold its own weight and is rubber, its much more comfortable to wear compared to a plastic clothes peg type thing that uses a spring to hold it on your finger. I have used both and that is my opinion Thanks Jas. That's helpful. I assumed the peg typ...

Re: Help choosing an SpO2 monitor
I have been on APAP for half a year and haven't had any noticeable effect yet. I actually am more tired and have worse brain-fog and daily headaches than ever. I want to get a pulse oximeter to measure my SpO2 while on APAP and compare to if I try sleep without using it. I have found a few options ...

Re: Oximeter in Canada?
I just went through this as I wanted one as well. I settled on a Torontek B400 which from what I can tell is a rebranded Contec CMS50F, I did see a forum post stating it does work with OSCAR. You can order them online from best buy or walmart. I wanted the CMS50I but just couldn't find a good sourc...

Re: Low AHI, mostly CA events, still feeling extremely tired
Think of a flow limitation like breathing through a straw... you *can* get a full breath (so it's not like a hypopnea, which is a reduced volume breath), but it's more work to get that full breath, it takes more time, and effort. Wow that makes sense now! I've noticed a few times that I've woken in...

Re: Low AHI, mostly CA events, still feeling extremely tired
SSRI medications are well known to mess with sleep architecture...you don't get the needed sleep cycles in the needed percentages for the restorative powers of sleep to work their magic. They especially mess with REM and deep sleep...you just don't get as much as you might need. You can google "sle...

Re: Low AHI, mostly CA events, still feeling extremely tired
Do you take any medications? If so, what? Even OTC?? I take a very low dose (10mg/day) escitalopram, SSRI. Do you wake up very often during the night or do you sleep soundly for the most part? For the most part I sleep soundly. Occasionally I'll wake up maybe two/three times in the very early morni...

Low AHI, mostly CA events, still feeling extremely tired
Hi everyone, I'm new to this message board, looking for any help or advice on my charts. I have been on APAP treatment since August, but only been using it consistently for the last 2 months. I somehow feel like I'm more tired, foggy headed and waking up with headaches than before I started. For the...

Re: Could my CPAP be causing Central Apneas?
It could be that it'll just take some more time for you to start feeling better. That's not unusual. But if you'd like to dig deeper, you might try downloading Oscar: https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/ and posting a Daily chart or two so the experts can take a look and see if they spot any need for ...

Re: Could my CPAP be causing Central Apneas?
I'd say it feels like I get a decent sleep (8-9 hours most nights) mostly uninterrupted, occasionally 1 or 2 times a night I remember waking up. But still very tired throughout the day (like I could fall asleep at my desk with ease and have no energy to work) and it used to be that my headaches woul...

Re: Could my CPAP be causing Central Apneas?
Thanks! I was worried because I haven't found the CPAP has made any difference.. and I actually am waking up with worse headaches and feel just as tired throughout the day.

Could my CPAP be causing Central Apneas?
Based on the statistics of my therapy it looks like over 70% of my reported AHI is consistently coming from Clear Airway events. Could it be causing Central Apneas?
