I think if one isn't more irritable lately, one is seriously out of touch.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 9:19 pmIt's not the cpap.
Think.
We are all a bit upset, because, the pandemic.
I am thinking about asking my doctor to renew my "chill pill", at least until after the election.
Hopefully, I will not need it after.

Re: Questions and no idea where to start
I'm no expert on masks, but I know there are nasal pillow masks where the hose extends from the top of your head. That might help some.

Re: Extreme dry mouth
I’ve been using a CPAP for 15 years with few problems. Recently I’ve been waking up in the night with extremely dry mouth. I’m not sure why. I also have mouth bubbles forming in my mouth and it seems to me that I am not mouth breathing but that the air flow inside my mouth from the machine is dryin...

Re: CPAP vs Enlarged turbinates
@atomised you are like my doppleganger. My god. I have englarged turbinates and have been trying CPAP for the last 2 weeks too with terrible results. I also have been contemplating the surgery. I am on the waiting list so probably also will be waiting some time. I doubt it will happen this year. I ...

Re: CPAP vs Enlarged turbinates
Have you tried simply using a nasal dilator and see if that might circumvent the need for a CPAP? There is one called NasalAid that looks quite strange but is actually very comfortable. Almost as comfortable but considerably cheaper are the light blue tubular ones, such as the Snore Care Sets you f...

I'm thinking arrhythmia too. An electronic monitor would be good. You can also easily monitor your heart beats by putting a finger on your temple, right in front of the bump at the front of your ear. The heart beat can be easily felt there.

Re: OT: CBD Oil
CBD is not supposed to be psychoactive, yet for some reason it is considered to be calming. I don't understand that. If you want to venture into small doses of the psychoactives, you might try a tea before bed with a tincture with THC if medical marijuana is available in your region. THCs low in the...

I assume you mean the Knightsbridge chin strap, not SomniFix. Actually, it is mentioned before in this thread. It's a great product.

Re: new cpap user throat feels swollen
As a user of the Knightsbridge myself after frustrations with several other types of chin straps, I'd concur that you may want to try the Knightsbridge. I'm skeptical of any of the standard design neoprene chin straps since they wrap around the tip of your chin and push your jaw directly into your j...

Re: Knightsbridge CPAP chinstra
For me the Knightsbridge Dual Band works great. Basically it's the only one that actually works as far as I can tell, and it's comfortable. Because it lifts from under the jaw. All the other ones wrap around the tip of your chin and push your jaw into the joint. It takes a little experimentation to ...

Re: Do nasal pillows and I just need to break up?
Just a word of general encouragement ... Sleeping with a device blowing air up your nose is highly unnatural, it is not something that comes easy. But there are tons of options available now, the technology is very advanced with OSCAR etc., and the people here are incredibly helpful. Sleep is a nece...

Re: Full Face Mask...
If you are basically comfortable with nasal pillows, you might try the Knightsbridge Dual Band chin strap to keep your mouth closed. (I see its listed above in the CPAP Product News as a new product.) Of the chin straps available, it's the one that actually works. The standard neoprene ones wrap aro...

Re: Doc says leak rate of 36 L/m and belowis okay... but
If the leaks are out your mouth, try a chin strap or a cervical collar or mouth tape. If you're going the chin strap route get the Knightsbridge Dual Band chin strap, it's the only one that is designed to actually work. (The standard neoprene ones wrap around the tip of your chin and the force is di...

Re: Warm sweaty nose/lips from pillows - suggestions?
If the hose isn't heated I would attribute it to drinking alcohol. The metabolism definitely changes when drunk.
