Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
- the flow limitation markers don't always line up with disrupted breathing in the flow rate chart, and plenty of unusual breathing goes on without being marked as FL. It looks like the FL graph may be about as useful as the AHI for me? (as in it can tell me when I've clearly had a crappy night, bu...

Re: New here, Cpap hasnt helped much yet
hey! I also have ADHD (and intermittent anxiety / depression, including darker periods)! I'm new to CPAP so I'm not much a resource for advice, but I can sympathize at least. You've got a lot of different starting points to choose from: as Hulk queried, are you getting any support for your mental he...

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
Bad night last night. I managed to fall asleep before midnight without any pills, but was constantly waking due to mask discomfort / position changes / leaks. Finally got out of bed an hour before my alarm because I couldn't take it anymore. I noticed that, for the second time, one of the magnetic s...

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
I'm trying to look at my flow rate curves more carefully. I've been scoring for RERAs using the rudimentary skills I have (if it's a spike in breathing accompanied by several chaotic, irregular breaths, it may be an arousal) and I've found that: - the flow limitations don't necessarily seem to line ...

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
I'm going to be gradually inching up the EPAP or PS according to what "feels right," which is unfortunately hard to work with in a public forum. Right now I just don't feel a difference between sleeping on CPAP and sleeping without it, which is a good starting point to help me acclimate to the mask...

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
You might be able to wean yourself off now that you're on cpap. I'm waiting to do that until I get closer to my optimal therapy and no longer need the Trazodone. Sometime in the future, definitely. Last night was uneventful, won't post the graphs because there's nothing new in them. I am definitely...

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
Have you tried splitting a Trazodone pill and taking half? Yep, used to do that when I was trying to wean off of it but it wasn't strong enough. I've found that the minimum dose for me is three-quarters of a pill, and as of late I've been needing to take one and a half pills to fall asleep. I'll do...

NoOnesPerfect is sending me a full kit, so this thread should no longer be needed.

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
Bed at ~11:30, wake at 7:30. Caved in to taking Trazodone (75mg) and 3mg melatonin soon after the first time I tried to fall asleep at 10:30. Settings: Same as before. Min EPAP 6.6, PS 5.6, Max IPAP 20. Subjectively: Groggy, feeling sleep deprived, although maybe it's a side effect of the Trazodone....

[Buy] Looking for P10 frame + hose
Pugsy was generous enough to send me the P10 headgear straps and a couple pillow sizes to try (XS and S), but I'm still in need of the frame and short hose to be able to use the mask. I'd also be interested in getting a M size pillow to try just in case the other sizes aren't ideal, but it's less im...

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
Everything you do is appreciated beyond words, Pugsy
Should I make a separate post (e.g. "Looking for P10 frame + short hose system") so others will notice?

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
I don't know how they put the P10 on you but it wasn't nearly correct if it leaked so bad that you didn't even try to sleep with it. So many things were weird about that clinic in retrospect. The guy who fitted me with the masks seemed very out of it, as if he'd just finished an overnight PSG and w...

Re: the P10s -- I've been cringing at the prices on eBay for the part I'm missing (frame and short hose), it's half the cost of a new Bleep, more than half if you consider that cpap.com has a discount on the Bleep right now. The P10s were one of the masks I'd tried on at the sleep center when I got ...

Re: New (UARS) -- lots of questions
Part of the shallow appearance of those breaths has to do with the graph scale. I think fixing the graph scale will make them more normal looking but I don't know how to tell you to fix it. Beyond my skill level. Let me ask Palerider what he thinks and/or how to fix it. Mine looks very similar to y...
