Re: Airsense 10 - why does dial light in middle of night
Not a fan of firmware updates during my therapy!  I don't think that you have to lose sleep worrying about that happening. ResMed is real stingy with their over the air upgrades....I know of one...maybe 2 in all my 15 years using cpap. I was not aware you could 'pause' a session... I jus...

Airsense 10 - why does dial light in middle of night
I've had my Resmed Airsense 10 for five years, and it works great, and I'm comfortable with CPAP, which is why I don't come to this site often. But I noticed something odd this week for the first time ever - in the middle of the night, rolling over, I saw the dial/knob on it light up. I asked my wif...

Re: Can a burp count as an event?
Clarifying what I said, the AHI was 1.7. Are you concerned about an AHI of 1.7? It's easy to register that in a night of normal, healthy sleep. But to answer your question, a burp that is 10 seconds or longer might possibly be registered as an event. Thank goodness, none of my burps would have regi...

Which is 2-3x normal.

Can a burp count as an event?
Last night I had the same restful sleep I always do, but my AHI was 1.7 - 2-3x normal, and unusual for when I know I slept well. But I did have a spicy dinner, and, especially right after going to bed, was burping a lot. Can a burp be counted as an event, thus driving up my AHI number?

Re: Air pillow roulette - change pillows, and my leak score soars
Well, if only all problems were that simple.
With the water tank closed properly, my leaks dropped from average of 20+ over the past several days, to 1 lpm last night!

Re: Air pillow roulette - change pillows, and my leak score soars
Just to cover the bases: Are you completely sure you're using the same size of pillow at each change-over? Is it possible the leaks are coming from your mouth? And have you tried figuring out whether you do in fact have a leak somewhere between the machine and the mask? Absolutely sure on size - al...

Re: Air pillow roulette - change pillows, and my leak score soars
also, you say that you clean it every day. how? do you mean with detergent? or a baby wipe? i clean mine every day with a baby wipe and with detergent once in a blue moon. i have been using the p10 mask for several years now with no leaks. good luck! Most days I gently use a warm washcloth to clean...

Air pillow roulette - change pillows, and my leak score soars
I find a horrible inconsistency on "fit" for my Airsense 10 nasal pillows. Out of ignorance and inertia, I used my first air pillows for five months, cleaning daily of course. For the last six weeks, I was essentially at 0-2 lpm leak each night - 2/3 of that time was zero leaks. When I got my first ...

A night without CPAP
Not the dumbest thing I've done, but not the smartest either. Just playing "what if," I tried a night without CPAP after more than a year using it. I'll often feel "at one" - with the room, with my wife - as I turn out the lights, and masking up certainly ends that "at-one-ness." Which is a main rea...

Thanks. I sort of figured/hoped this was normal, but wanted to get my arms around what had happened.

"Drowning" effect went away - thoughts?
One of the phenomena I experienced on starting CPAP a year ago this month, was a "drowning" sensation if I opened my mouth, followed by, essentially, a "suction" that would close my mouth. Which is as it probably should be; I use nasal pillows, so the CPAP benefits are delivered 100% through the nos...

Re: humidity off & empty water chamber ok?
I have an Airsense 10. Two months after I started on CPAP, my experience was optimized enough that I was complaining about the air temperature and the humidity. Turning my humidity down from the midpoint initial setting felt great, and I incrementally went down to zero, and it was great and I've bee...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I've been on CPAP for about a year. Didn't want to go that route, and fought the diagnosis, because, other than bad snoring, I had none of the other symptoms. I slept great at night, and didn't feel fatigued during the day. But my sleep study AHI was 45-ish, I think. I looked first at using an oral ...

Re: Half of my ClimateLine tubing hoses have been twisted
Closing the loop on this topic. When I went to bed last night, the tubing was still acceptably flexible, and "played nice" with me. No stiffness, kinks, "mind of its own." I also had a lower AHI than I'd had before with this tube. So the "fix" was running it in a clothes dryer for two minutes, buffe...
