Re: A week after using the Resmed F30 mask ... what am I missing?
Flow limitations are part of what will drive the pressure up. Snores Flow limitations OAs Hyponeas all are a factor in the auto adjusting algorithm. Your FL graph clearly shows what is the main driving force behind the pressure increases. Thanks Pugsy! I thought only snores, leaks and apnea events ...

Re: A week after using the Resmed F30 mask ... what am I missing?
It's been a week since I changed from the Dreamwear FF to the Resmed FF and this is about the type of results I'm getting although I did have 1 or 2 nights that I had AHIs below 5. I know that the machine is not a diagnostic tool and I don't understand why I can get AHIs below 5 but then something l...

Re: Recommend FFM
I think you only have 2 options. The Respironics Dreamwear and the Resmed F30, there may be another hybrid with nasal pillows and mouth but I'm not 100% sure about it. I have tried both, currently using the F30 but have only been on therapy a short time. My impression is I like the Dreamwear better ...

Re: Lifting the hose up
My short answer is - yes for me it matters but everyone is different. I'm a week into using CPAP and 20+ years ago I had attempted to use a CPAP and the hose was always a problem for me. Back then I had a different headboard and all the stuff available today wasn't around. So I rigged the hose up ho...

Re: Mouth air bubbles
I will start looking at that going forward but when I clicked on the mask it brought me to a nasal mask.

Re: Mouth air bubbles
I'm a week into CPAP use and although I nose breathe most of the time I was getting this as well when sleeping. I started on a nasal mask and in a few days this along with large leaks out of my mouth were driving me crazy and ruining sleep. It seemed as just as I was relaxed enough to start sleeping...

Re: Mouth Breather
I am new to CPAP use but found my mouth opens on a nasal mask. I tried the Dreamwear FF and it works very well fot the most part except it doesn't seem to handle higher pressures very well; at 12 to 13 cmh2o it seems to holds pressure nicely. It is very minimal in covering your face and I am wearing...

Re: First night with FF mask
Does a FF mask tend to need higher pressures? Seems like it is common to need a little more minimum pressure when going to a full face mask from a nasal interface mask. So yes.....while not everyone will need more pressure enough people do for us to say it is common. I think it is because that lowe...

Re: Why Is There No Humidity When Using F 30 Mask?
I'm new to CPAP use but this was my observation last night using a Repironics Dreamwear FF vs Dreamwear nasal mask. Without changing humidity level or hose temp I seemed to use about the same amount of water but my throat was definitely bothering me with the FF mask vs nasal mask. I will assume it's...

Re: First night with FF mask
I received the Dreamwear FF mask parts last night and this is the result. It looks like the previous large leaks were maybe from mouth leaks. I know that this chart is far from great and my AHI is high. I still had a couple of large leaks that occurred, I woke up to the sound of the mask fluttering ...

Re: Is polysomnography a good career?
This is my observation from working in a hospital for a long time as a Biomedical Tech (I repair medical equipment). Hospital staff tend to stay at their jobs forever especially if the hospital treats them correctly. I just had a sleep test done and it was an at home test as the hospital couldn't ju...

Re: 2nd night info
Thanks Zonker! You hadn't mentioned it before and looks like an interesting way of keeping a mouth shut. I think I am going to wait just 1 day to see what happens tomorrow night as I seem to also get gurgling and at times my mouth fills with air as well. It seems to happen when I am just starting t...

Re: 2nd night info
Last night, I raised the pressure to 10 and used ramp starting a little lower pressure. I think I need to raise the minimum pressure a little to 12.8 or 13 If I'm reading the data correctly. I'm not understanding the non large leak being reported from the machine. I'm thinking the large leak is fro...

Re: 2nd night info
Thanks Pugsy! I have tried to read up on Oscar and Sleepyhead but unfortunately by skimming I have missed some things. I adjusted the graphs and hopefully they're good now. I hesitate taping my mouth shut as I get acid reflux at times and want to make sure it has a way to escape. I have a FF mask o...

Re: Are travel CPAP machines worth it?
People with far more experience than I have have answered but just wanted to say that the Resmed Airsense 10 is not that large of a machine as you know, what is the physical size difference between it and a travel machine? The posted weight difference wasn't much; you can purchase a side cover to el...
