Re: obtaining cpap rx from Kaiser

Apria decided to raise the price of my CPAP machine after I already had paid in full. They stated that they could charge me whatever 'Kaiser' allowed regardless of what was agreed to in the sales agreement paperwork. So I returned my CPAP to Apria and demanded a copy of the prescription from Kaiser....

Re: AirMini

I have an Air Mini and use it with a p10 mask.

I had one replacement 'short hose' where the connector to the long hose was defective and it made a lot of noise as a result.
Visually the 'quiet connector' looked the same as the 'noisy connector'.

Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth like you are trying to make a clucking noise and keep it there.

Of course the dream would be 5G with wi-fi capability, but that is probably a light-year away -- by which time 5G will be old technology. :?
There is such a thing as a wifi sd card...I have one and download my data to my pc and look at it with OSCAR every day.

Re: Mouth Breathing - Settings Advice Please

I did 'tongue clucking' exercises. I.E Place tongue on roof of mouth and make a clucking sound. Then place tongue on roof of mouth , hold then breath through nose. Repeat 20 times 3 times/day. YMMV.

Re: I keep waking up ~1hr after falling asleep, any tips? indications from these OSCAR charts?

Sleep cycles generally last about 90 minutes. We all 'wake' between sleep cycles...most of the time the 'wake state' is quite short and we have no recollection. When I started CPAP I had recollection of waking between cycles 2,3 and 4. A year and a half later I generally have recollection of waking ...

Re: Is a 2nd sleepy study to find correct pressure necessary?

Really depends on how complex your apnea is as to whether a titration study is warranted. My doctor had me do a 'home study'...($300 for the study...another $300 for the doctor)..then pretty much set me on my own. For the majority of people of Resmed S10 Autoset will be an excellent choice of machin...

Re: Did you wake up "False-Refreshed" when you first started?

After a year I still wake up 'false refreshed'. Before CPAP I 'slept' 10 hours a night and woke up exhausted. Now I reliably sleep at least 4.5 hours, sometimes 6 hours and wake up feeling 'fully refreshed', I then lay in bed until I fall back asleep. Once I get to 7 hours sleep I'm good to go. I ha...

Re: Likelihood of getting SD card from Kaiser/Apria?

I didn't get an SD card from Apria/Kaiser either nor did anyone else in the Kaiser/Apria training session.
Kaiser can access the data directly from Resmed...they have no need for the chip.

Why even bring that up, since we all know it's not good enough?
Because OP is preparing to have a meeting with a Doctor to discuss an AHI of < 5. We all know 5 is crap and a lot of us have paid good money only to be told that 5 is 'doing great'.

Re: Understanding Oscar Report

Medicare/Insurance definition of 'good enough' is an AHI < 5. There is no shortage of doctors that will declare 'you are doing great' with an AHI < 5. You have two nights with minimum pressure at 7 which is a good 'starting point' for adjusting adult minimum pressure. As other have said in order to ...

Re: How long is a prescription valid for?

My prescription says 'lifetime'.

That's not to be confused with 'compliance certification' which is required if insurance is going to pay for things.
For my particular insurance/HMO compliance certification must be done annually if they are going to pay.

Re: Resmed says SoClean is bad

I would say that Cpap.com has already addressed the issue of those who want to disinfect masks, hoses, and tanks with their Lumin device. Having read the various Resmed releases carefully the issue would seem to me to be the impact of Ozone on foam components. I.E. There is foam sound deadening ins...
