Re: Pulse ox report help....UK user
I was just trying to be helpful. Not sure what area of the country you're in but the clinic I went to privately also deals with 19,000 people from all over the south east of the UK. They also deal with more than OSA which is what I wanted as CPAP didn't fix all my sleep issues. Just to give you an i...

Re: Pulse ox report help....UK user
Hi there, Just jumping in here as I'm from the UK, also recently got diagnosed with a new sleep disorder from a 2 night pulse oximetry test. I took myself to a private sleep clinic in the end after a disasterous operation where I ended up in the high dependence unit for a few nights with oxygen issu...

Re: Sleep Issues That Go Beyond Cpap
Posting here as I have had very long term issues of unrefreshing sleep, fatigue to the point of being homebound (after a long time). My OSA is treated now but I still had remaining unrefreshing sleep and fatigue. I got a private pulse oximeter test and it showed up periodic Limb Movement disorder, m...

Re: UK advice please
Hey ktleague, thanks for stopping by. :) Maybe I should change the thread title now as time has moved things along (I think thats a good thing. lol). Private sleep doc I saw diagnosed RLS from just a pulse oximetry, basically I had tachycardia throughout the night and lots of peaks in heart rate, I'...

Re: Help with sleep results
I'm definitely not an expert, but would say the periodic limb movements are significant in the first study and a neurologist would be the way to go. This is an OSA board so some may not be familiar with other sleep dx unless they have them. I have both OSA and PLMD. The PLMD is new for me, or at lea...

Re: UK advice please
They're probably the best the NHS is handing out tbh, especially with the humidifier and heated hose. Not many folk get them straight off the bat. You're very welcome for the data card advice. By now you're probably knee deep in downloading OSCAR and finding out your stats. LOL! I like looking at th...

Re: UK advice please
Just wondering if they left the data card in the machine? It's top left under a flap. If they did you can download software called OSCAR, there will be a thread about it here somewhere and then see all your data. Other than that there's another site you can register with that gives more basic but no...

Re: UK advice please
PS How did you end up being referred to East Grinstead if you're 6 hours away? I'm a 40 minute drive! I know they cover a big area but 6 hours is mad. lol Good for you.

Re: UK advice please
Hi WakeWalker and thanks for stopping by. :) Not sure if you're aware but I was originally seen and diagnosed by the sleep clinic at Haywards Heath (cannot recommend) where they missed the restless legs dx and I never got any follow up for the OSA. The private clinic is run by the doctor & a senior ...

Re: UK advice please
Fast update. Turns out I may have another sleep disorder - Restless legs or similar which is also disturbing my sleep. I'm going to get a referral to the clinic on the NHS then need polysomnography. This was determined from the oximetry which showed rapid heart rate throughout the night and disturba...

Re: UK advice please
Hi Rik :) Yes am still with new private doc for now, I have a follow up on Monday with his sleep tech who is pretty experienced/knowledgable. I may have upset her slightly as I asked for the overnight oxymetry (£300!) and then cancelled it as went via Hope2Sleep which cost £35 + delivery for 2 night...

Re: UK advice please
So I had a bit of a disturbed night last night, waking a couple of times feeling like I needed to breathe in. I got up feeling terrible then had to go back to bed for a few hours. Still felt rough after the extra nap, confused and headachy. The Oscar report looks alot more 'eventful' than other nigh...

Re: UK advice please
So I've worked on mask fit which is alot better and got a 99% on the ResMed Air feature today. Woo, go me. Not half as tired today but very little energy still. I'm assuming that will come with time? One thing that bugs me is some people with severe OSA can carry on with just some high blood pressur...

Re: UK advice please
The results are from the new machine and old mask. I've tightened up the straps a tiny bit and think that's helped. Where should AHI be to be good?
Also, all I've wanted to do all day is sleep. Is this as I'm finally not being disturbed all the time? I'm confused.
