Re: High pitched whistling noise driving me crazy.
Put some KY water based lubricant on the silicone gaskets in the humidifier chamber. This works on both the Resmed S10 and Dreamstation. The fix lasts a couple months and is repeatable.

Re: Asking for help/suggestions re: noise issue......
Thank you. I would think I was crazy except for a few things: I have recorded the noises; i can mostly mask them with ear plugs and loud white noise; and, I have a Dreamstation which I do not like for various reasons, but which does not make loud noises. Thanks again.

Re: Wheezing/whistling problem....solution.....
The reviews on seller sites are overwhelmingly positive. But, you can never tell who's getting paid for what. You also have to take into account confirmation bias. You're talking about an expensive machine that *none of the users can actually tell if it does anything* other than make a "fresh" thou...

Re: Wheezing/whistling problem....solution.....
Thank you for that. I wish I’d had that info years ago. I have received some questionable instructions. I will stick with SoClean for the time being and allow everything to air out well prior to using. oh dear me. please tell me the soclean was a sarcastic remark? if not, please use the search box ...

Re: Wheezing/whistling problem....solution.....
. . . fill the hose with hot soapy water and let everything soak for a few hours. . . . Soaking for an extended time can promote deterioration, and even fungal growth. Brush, swish, and rinse is enough. Then it can dry--unless you do it right before bed. (No drying needed then) Anything more often ...

Asking for help/suggestions re: noise issue......
I’m a newbie here but not a CPAP rookie, have been mostly struggling with it for five years. I had two years of a silent machine and finally found a mask I could live with, the P10. My first machine, a Dreamstation, had the whistling issues i described in my first post. That plus bad mask advice fro...

Re: Wheezing/whistling problem....solution.....
Perhaps I was not using a strong enough soap in my cleaning regimen. My preference is hot water and unscented dishwashing soap. I figure, if it's good enough for what you eat off of... That’s what I was using, an unscented dish soap from Target. I would fill the hose with hot soapy water and let ev...

Re: Wheezing/whistling problem....solution.....
As usual PR felt the need to criticize someone with a little comment in a relatively harmless note... sorry I'm not intimately familiar with how your financial system works re machines... why not just ignore what I said = - not as if I'm leading newbies astray! I just never heard of a little KY voi...

Re: Wheezing/whistling problem....solution.....
Fine, but have you voided your warranty? What in the world are you blathering about? You know, I don’t want to step on any toes here on my first day, but if you can’t sleep because of the whistling noise, I say break out the KY, and to heck with the warranty. And if Resmed or PR voided your warrant...

Re: Wheezing/whistling problem....solution.....
I’m new here, so, hi, fellow sufferers. I’ve been on CPAP for five years, had a terrible first two with a wheezing Dreamstation, then bought a Resmed Auto 10 and became acclimated to CPAP. Then after about six months it began the same wheezing/whistling sounds on inhale/exhale that seem to travel u...

Re: Beer and sleep apnea
I like to drink beer in the evening. I know it leads to increased urination at night and alcohol impacts sleep. My experience is alcohol makes it easy to fall asleep but hard to stay asleep. Going to get my first CPAP machine soon and don't plan on stopping beer... Thoughts??? Bubba, I have 5 years...
