Robert,
I did try moleskin padding - is that what you mean? I think the one I bought was too thick - 4- 1/8 in. x 3-3/8 in. When I used it, air was leaking out. Do you think I should try again but with thinner padding?
Thanks

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible
I keep trying to post my OSCAR data but my files must be too large. How do I send them through to you? Can I make them smaller?

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible
Hello Pugsy, Thank you for explaining about the attachment size. I will check. To answer your question, the bulk of my events are OAs and hyponeas. My pressure settings now are 6 minimum and 10.6 max. What do you suggest I increase them to? The FF mask even with foam memory cushions causes redness a...

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible
Dear Pugsy and all, Thank you for your help. By way of update - I went without cpap for almost two weeks and the sore beneath my nose healed up, or so I thought. Went back to my nasal mask I've been using for a long time, but the area beneath my nose became irritated again after one night! Next trie...

Re: Thinking of trying Bleep - should I try old or new Eclipse?
Dear Ozij, I so appreciate your kind reply! I have had such a hard time with the sore beneath my nose. For years, I continued to use the beneath the nose mask, which even with cotton balls and other things to try to reduce the pressure, but to no avail. All of this came to a head about two weeks ago...

Thinking of trying Bleep - should I try old or new Eclipse?
I am thinking of trying the Bleep and can't seem to find the newer Eclipse model. Should I wait for that one to become available or try the older version? I have had to temporarily stop cpap because the masks cause nose sore and want to see if I can tolerate the bleep. Thanks.

Why higher AHI with lower mask leaks???
All, I can't figure out why on nights when my mask leaks are low my AHI is much higher than normal for me. My sleep medicine doctor is also baffled by this. I've struggled with leaks for a long time and now that that problem seems to be solved, I've watched my AHI climb. My AHI was always below 1 - ...

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible
Thank you so much. I tried the Air Touch F20 last night. It was gentler on the bridge of my nose ... so far. BUT upon viewing the OSCAR data, I was saddened to see that my AHI was high (for me) and there was a section of Cheyenne Stokes events. I took the mask off at 3:30 because air was blowing out...

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible
Thank you, Pugsy. I have an appointment with the sleep medicine doctor and will ask about whether she has a sample of the Air Touch F20. I tried the Air Fit F20 last night but for some reason every time I started to fall asleep the mask woke me up. At least that's what it felt like. Something about ...

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible
I forgot to respond to Thumper's idea of using the Dream wear ff mask in the meantime. This is different from the Air Fit F20, right? I have the air fit but wonder if I should try to get the dream wear ff mask you mentioned.

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible
Thank you all for your responses. It just so happened that I had an annual visit with my dermatologist today. He took one look at the sore and said that if it doesn't improve in two weeks' time (without using the cpap nasal mask) he will biopsy it. And all this time I thought it was irritated from t...

Nose sores making cpap impossible
Dear forum friends, I've been dealing with a sore beneath my nose for a few years of cpap therapy. But despite many attempts to rectify this problem (cotton ball or bandaids over the sore, lanolin cream, etc.) plus trying many different masks, the sore has become infected and very painful. As a resu...
