Re: Thin face and zero luck with ResMed

Yes, for the dry mouth/mouth leaks try a mouth tape (I like Somniflex) or a chin strap. If you go the chin strap route, get the Knightsbridge Dual Band. It lifts vertically from below the jaw. (The traditional elastic ones wrap around the tip of your chin and force the jaw into the jaw joint, which ...

Mako19 is right, the tongue can shift the teeth over time. (I had an issue with that as a child.)

Re: Need a vertical pull chin strap

There's one called "Deluxe" or "Deluxe-Style" on cpap.com that is more vertical than most and fairly stable.

Maybe if you cut a hole in the top of the Knightsbridge, you could use it over the Air Fit N30i?

Re: How to handle leak and other questions

If the Resmed works for you, great. But that design wraps around the tip of the chin and forces the jaw into the joint, which is uncomfortable and cause even cause joint damage in the long term, and is not really an effective angle for rotation anyway. You might want to look into the Knightsbridge D...

Re: Dr. Dakota Chin Pillow - not in Business?

Viraj3474, before you discount all chin straps, take a look at the Knightsbridge Dual Band. It has a completely different design than the standard neoprene ones that wrap around the tip of your chin and push your jaw into your jaw joint. Chin pillows/cervical collars do seem to work for some people,...

Re: Why the hell would I use a humidifier.

The physics of the situation is that the drying out caused is the product of (i) the differential between the humidity of the outside air and the very moist internal air, and (ii) the amount of air passing by. So although Guinges is correct that the first factor is the not altered, it is the second ...

Re: Dreamwear Full Mask Breath Through Nose Or Mouth?

Yeah, opening the mouth and having the air suddenly come out from there will wake you up, defeating the whole purpose of CPAP. I'm a huge fan of the Knightsbridge Dual Band https://dualbandchinstrap.com chin strap ... you should try that. It's completely different from the standard neoprene ones in ...

You can probably reduce the required pressure if (when sleeping supine) you elevate your torso and head, i.e., create an upwards slant to the bed from the waist upwards.

Re: Best Mask for Deviated Septum / Stuffy Nose

I think it is almost impossible to recommend a best mask because so much of it has to do with the shape of your head and nostrils. That being said, I do currently like the DreamWear.

Re: Mouth breathing no matter what, desperate

Ok thanks so much, any recommendations for a good chin strap? No question in my opinion the Knightsbridge Dual Band https://dualbandchinstrap is the one to get. The neoprene ones you get on Amazon wrap around the tip of your chin and push your jaw into your jaw joint. The Knightsbridge lifts from b...

Re: Ready to quit after 21 days!! Please help!!

I’d also suggest getting a soft cervical collar or a “Dr Dakota” or “The Eliminator” travel pillow / anti-snoring collar. One of those may help you keep your mouth closed. I never could get the collars to work at keeping my mouth closed until my head was pushed back almost as far as it would go ......

Re: Long term chin strap use

I like the Knightsbridge Dual Band chin strap (www.dualbandchinstrap.com) much better than the neoprene ones. The material is breathable and it's much more comfortable because of the "vertical lift" and the dual bands (elastic and non-elastic). Very smartly designed.
