Re: UARS/FL/RERA (PLMS): My Sleeping Drawbacks
Hi, BIPAPers _ well, guys, today I am completing a 630-day journey on APAP (first 1.5 months) and VAUTO (since then). Some five days ago, I posted a summary of my historic and some thouthgs, elsewhere in another pertinent thread above; _ After my last post in this thread some things undergone some c...

Re: Suffocating Feeling First Night
Hi, _ it appears you are doing well....you went on any systematic titration, either lab or not? _ Maybe I could suggest you take a look at this Resmed titration guide: https://www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents/products/titration/s9-vpap-tx/user-guide/1013904_Sleep_Lab_Titration_Guide_amer_eng.pdf....y...

Re: UARS? Is CPAP for me?
Hi, _ how do you feel in general, whithout PAP?...how many times do you think you awake at night?...... how many trips to toilet?.....do you have nightmares? or irritating stuck dreams?......any signal of suffocation, followed by awakening?....any signal of heart beat increasing during the night, wh...

_ to illustrate my journey: three charts, from bottom to top: 1_ last day on APAP, 2_ day after = first day on Vauto, and 3_yesterday (this last one matches with HYF index of 4.7);

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
Hi, Catnapper _ I am pretty sure my case would be a success, at least at an 80-90% level. That is, in a scale "How You Feel" (basically reflecting energy for stuffs, and sleepness during the day) I am always above 4.0, up to 4.7. Hope I am going to get some consistent > 4.5. Remaining drawbacks appe...

Re: Low AHI and still tired
---agree. I had poor experiences with pressures in my old days with APAP (minimum up to some 11.5 leadind to aerophagia), and with my current VAUTO (IPAP > 11.6 does not pay off). ---moreover, if OP confirms respiratory-driven arousal/awakenings (even provoked by very minor ridiculous short duration...

--- wonder how round would be your FR inspirations; still flat-topped or not ?...curious to see some 2-min windows anteceding your arousal/awakenings.

Re: Low AHI and still tired
" I don't wake up all that much, usually 1 - 2 times. And I don't currently take any medications" ......Well, Elite, Pugsy already have got the point. I was not talking on wake-ups (you have conscious of); but rather, on arousal (3 to 15 sec; unconscioues), awakening ( more than 15 secs; maybe cons...

Re: Vauto mode vs S mode for UARS
... Vauto or fixed (s) mode right now? what has your flow limitation chart looked like when it was good and when it was bad? ....unrelated to your comments, I have been met with some heavy aerophagia as my pressure has increased. I have not been getting any centrals at all but this damn gas is so an...

Re: Low AHI and still tired
Hi, Elite
_ my first impresion: your FR and CA's suggest to me you would arousal/awake a lot. It would have to find out why (respiratory-driven or other causes).
good luck

Re: Vauto mode vs S mode for UARS
If I had UARS or suspected I had UARS this is what I would do. Then I would systematically start increasing the minimum EPAP and choose a PS (when using bilevel) that I was the most comfortable with and do one week experiments at that EPAP minimum and keep a detailed log of the results in terms of s...

Re: Solution for higher AHI with FFM, learned from Dr. Steven Park
Hi,
_ yes, indeed, from my experience, collar is very useful in combination with my FFM. I tested many times: without the collar always comes lots of mouth breathing. The combination FFM+collar led to better quality respiration, with pretty much no MB in general.
good luck

Re: Mostly Clear Airways
hi, _good analysis, Pugsy, as usual; totally agree......._charts are rather similar to mine, as of my early days on APAP......arousals to wake ups could have, indeed, many causes; whatever be them, however, to clear up eventual solution, in my modest opinion, it would depend on better respiration, f...
