Re: Large tongue is causing a problem. I’m so sleep deprived.

If your tongue is indeed a problem, I would avoid back sleeping even though you didn't feel lying prone or on your side made a difference. Even when side sleeping, if your face is slightly off the edge of the pillow enough that the front of your face tilts a bit downward, gravity can work for you i...

Re: Large tongue is causing a problem. I’m so sleep deprived.

To the OP: Your AHI is 0.44 (for the night shown)! This is considered very good if not excellent! You slept for 6¾ hours, which is good (you should do seven, but you're pretty close). Also, your pressure did not seem to go above 19, so having a machine capacity above 20 won't make a difference. See...

Large tongue
By what technique are you measuring your tongue? Against what standard? Do you have scalloping on the sides of your tongue?
Based on the Mallampati score, i think I'm 3.

Large tongue is causing a problem. I’m so sleep deprived.

Hi all - has anyone here have issues where even with pressure at 20, it still doesn’t overcome the tongue from blocking their airway? I have large tonsils as well. Would the ASV help overcome this? I have tried sleeping on my side, prone position, and even sitting up. Every time I feel I’m about to ...

Re: Hybrid or nasal mask?

Thank you for the suggestion. I like the idea that it can be converted to nasal.

I’m doing this on my own at the moment so how do i figure out mask size?

Hybrid or nasal mask?

I’m a mouth breather when I sleep and am trying to train myself to breathe thru my noise. Would a hybrid or nasal mask help?
Which would you recommend?

Re: Newbie here. Thinking of going DIY route for now

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get any sleep last night. I found that starting at 8 was too low to prevent the back of my tongue from blocking my airway. I’d get jerked awake as i’m about fall asleep. I tinkered with the min until i felt my airway was clear and i was up to 15. At that point i was dealing...

Re: Newbie here. Thinking of going DIY route for now

I was able to get the Airsense 10 Autoset today yay! And it’s new with 0 run hours, which is nice. After going through some threads, i think this is how I’ll initially set it up: Min: 8, Max: 18, and no ramp or EPR. Are there any other details I might be missing? Hopefully things will work out and I...

Re: Newbie here. Thinking of going DIY route for now

Good to know, thank you.

I’m about to meet with the seller about the Airsense. Only downside is it doesn’t come with an SD card, but I can grab one afterwards.

Re: Newbie here. Thinking of going DIY route for now

Thank you Pugsy for the info 🙏. A seller on offerup has a Resmed Airsense 10 with autoset, ref number 37028. I think i’ll pick it up today. Fortunately I have a mask that a friend never used and it fits great when i was trying out his old cpap. Are resmed supplies compatible with other resmed? My fr...

Newbie here. Thinking of going DIY route for now

Hi everyone, found this forum through reddit and have been lurking and soaking up as much info as I can. I just wanted to introduce myself and say how grateful I am to have found a wealth of resources here. I’m sure I have OSA due to snoring, feeling my tongue blocking airway and getting jerked awak...
