AirSense 10 making noise
I started on CPAP about nine months ago with an AirSense 10 Autoset machine. Have been using it the whole time. Last night I noticed that it was making some some noise, especially upon inhale. My mask is the P10 Nasal Pillows and I use a Ruby chinstrap as well as tape over my lips to prevent air esc...

Re: UPDATED: Really need recs for new mask
Still really hating the Brevia. Can't scratch my nose without unseating the seal, and it's a PITA to re-position on the fly at night. The clips on the side holding the mask dig into my cheeks. My ear is sore and my nostrils are, too. In addition, the silicone that comprises the nasal pillows is ver...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread
It looks like the adhesive ports will make it very expensive to use! The cost of the ports per night is going to be a deal breaker for people with high deductible or self pay. No way around that. Now if someone has insurance...a box of the ports is equal to 1 nasal pillow and most insurance will al...

Re: UPDATED: Really need recs for new mask
Hi, Violet - I'll be interested to know if you're able to work the kinks out of the Brevida mask. I just got one yesterday. I've been using the ResMed P10 pillows and had a fairly reliable system figured out to keep a good seal, but it involves using a chin strap to keep my yap shut, as well as eith...

Help for sore nostrils
Hi - I don't know if anyone has had the experience of nasal pillows causing some soreness and discomfort around the nostrils, but I have. I mentioned it to my wife and she recently brought home an ointment for me to try. Here's a link to the product: https://www.babymantra.com/collections/body/produ...

Re: Starting to get discouraged - CPAP air noise
I think I may have hit on a solution to the noise issue - part of it is just making sure I get the P10 nasal mask positioned right. I think I had started taking it for granted that I was getting it lined up correctly, and I must have begun to get careless. Now I'm putting on the mask in front of a m...

Re: Best tape for taping mouth shut?
I mentioned in a previous post that the Nexcare Gentle Paper tape didn't get it done for me - the adhesive is just too strong so it's miserable to remove in the morning. I decided to try using the Scunci headband over the mouth, as another poster suggested, along with my chin strap. That was much mo...

Re: Getting use to CPAP masks.
Hi - I'm pretty new to this also, still in the first 90 days - and I have had my share of struggles with it. although I now feel like I've hit on a system that will work for me. Like you, I started with a FFM, the Philips Dreamwear. The first couple of nights were rough - I felt that I couldn't brea...

Re: Starting to get discouraged - CPAP air noise
If your wife is hearing air noise something is wrong somewhere. Correctly sealed there should be no noise anywhere with the P10. Is she hearing it at the beginning of the night or the middle of the night? What noise is she hearing? Hose air noise? Leak noise? Darth Vadar breathing sounds? What pres...

Re: Starting to get discouraged - CPAP air noise
You didn't say how long it went well before having leaks again. Headgear stretched maybe? Or need to replace pillows ? I use the N-20 and when I start getting leaks I know its time to check out my headgear. For me I switched to the smaller "for her" headgear and that helps it to last longer without...

Starting to get discouraged - CPAP air noise
Hi - after some very encouraging initial weeks with CPAP, my optimism about it is starting to fade. I overcame the initial panic/claustrophobic sensation within the first few nights of use and that's no longer an issue. I then started experimenting with different masks to reduce air leak and noise. ...

Re: Nasal Pillow Question...
I'm pretty new to CPAP, just started this past August. I recently switched to the AirFit P10 nasal pillows and, up until just this week, have had good luck with it. (I had started with a Dreamwear FFM - couldn't seem to get consistently good seal, so changed to nasal pillows, thinking that a smaller...

Re: Solution for open-mouth sleeping?
Hi, zonker. Well, I've used the Scunci headband across me marf for the last two nights and, so far, I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm EXTREMELY happy in the morning when I don't have to yank skin off my face removing that miserable tape!! The previous wounds are actually healing! Still using t...

Re: Solution for open-mouth sleeping?
Thanks, zonker! I've actually seen this post previously and it does look interesting, not to mention probably a whole lot more comfortable. I think I'm going to give it a try. Appreciate the input. jk hat-tip.gif as i say, please let me know which way it goes for you. oh! i also use a foam cervical...
