Re: Yearly maintenance for CPAP
Good morning everyone I’m just wondering if anyone sends their machine out to have it calibrated and cleaned and tuned up yearly. I came across a company That Repair’s CPAP that is factory authorized. They recommend even if your CPAP or BiPAP auto Pap or whatever is working fine it should be sent i...

Re: pressure not changing
If my equipment choice is poor, it isn't cast in concrete. I chose the AirStart because I'm a novice and it appeared to have features and performance similar to the Dreamstation, lest I run into a brick wall like "What is this patient's medical or financial justification for the AirSense 10 Autoset...

Re: pressure not changing
taken your sage advice and asked my DME provider for a ResMed AirStart 10 APAP. I have NEVER recommended an airstart machine, and I never will. You're just not paying attention. Once more, with feeling Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset . Actually, your only advice to me was "Get a Resmed". You certainly d...

it to the sim card One is amazed that someone who alleges to be so technical as yourself, doesn't know the difference in a SIM card and a SD card.     I'm trying to be respectful, not a smart**s. All those plug-in thingies look the same to me. The difference is - I'm a ha...

Re: pressure not changing
Some people have trouble with words, don't make fun of their disabilities. "Breath assist" was the first description that came to mind. I believe if you Wikipedia under "CPAP", it, or a similar term, was used by the author, who appears to have the same verbal handicap. Nope. Unless by "similar" you...

Re: pressure not changing
Btw, the EPAP waveform reported by the current released version of Oscar is incorrect for PR Dreamstation CPAP/APAP. It is reportedly the rolling average pressure over a 2 minute pressure. It is not EPAP. I don’t know whether that is the average commanded pressure or measured. The IPAP waveform app...

Re: Drooling issue and open mouth
I'm a belly sleeper and mouth breather who has drooling issues. I just don't like nasal masks. I'm also concerned anything I put inside my mask might be swallowed, so I tried something with a "safe" adhesive - a piece of one of my wife's sanitary napkins, pantie liner or pad. If they're allowed anyw...

It's not available becaus...

Re: pressure not changing
Those of you who question why your OSCAR pressure reading isn't varying - the RED trace - what you may be seeing isn't the actual sensed pressure - it's the programmed pressure. You're neither crazy nor stupid. Put your mind to rest. If you have an APAP, set to Ramp, the programmed pressure will ra...

Re: pressure not changing
Dear chicagogranny, I've been on breath-assist therapy for 2 months. 1 month ago, my Philips DreamStation APAP pressure was raised from 8 to 10 cm by my sleep therapist. I've set the C-flex pressure relief to 3 cm. That's not how *flex works, it varies, but never gets to 3cm drop. and exhaling, a b...

Re: pressure not changing
Somewhere, a readout should indicate cyclical pressure variation from 10 to 7 cm. How would this help any patient improve his therapy? Dear Chicago Granny, Thanks for the feedback. At this point, I don't think it would. But I'm also a biomedical electronics engineer (plz see my profile). Yes, I'm a...
