Re: Stomach Sleep - best sleep ever, but shoulders destroyed

I use skin-prep with 2 strips of Ktape crossed over the mouth and a third strip over the intersection of the first 2. Never had any leaks with that.

Re: UPPP for Palatal Prolapse?

I really advise you against this surgery. Palatal prolapse is very difficult to resolve. The best success I have had is using a bed that can be adjusted to sleep position.I have to say I'm a back sleeper and with an angle of about 20-30 degrees my situation improves by 90%. I had BSS surgery (link b...

Re: Are oral appliances worth the thousands of dollars?

Did use MAD for few months. Stop it as it wasn't effective enough for my OSA... And too much jaw pain. It was a custom made perfect fit. My friend dentist did it at cost (500$). 4500$ seem to be expensive to say the least.

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

Stuart asked me to post this new youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-pRVlAo6Ic He talks about application steps as well as a hose management system he has found helps him. Looks like about 10 minutes of video Thank you Pugsy for sharing this video. After watching this video, I made a ho...

Re: Mouth tape leak or mask leak?

I use the tape you will find in the link attached. We find it everywhere. This tape is elastic, sticks well, and removes very well without damaging the skin. I cut a band about 4 inches that I stretch to the maximum of the underside of the left ear below the right ear. If I do not stretch it, my lip...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

I bought mine at the cpapshop.com without a prescription. I bought from Canada, I do not know if it makes a difference. cpapshop.com is not a valid URL. Canada requires an Rx for CPAP devices, but not for masks. I bought my Resmed 10 autoset on Amazon Canada from The Cpap Store without prescription .

Re: Help I Need to Sleep ASAP!!

MattL, I like your motivation and I hope that you will have the expected success. The P10 suggested by Dog Slobber is the perfect choice to start especially as you are a side sleeper. As you begin, one of the most common problems among cpap users is leaks through the mouth. It harms treatment, cause...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

I am really interested in trying this mask, but I am a self-diagnosed/self-pay user. The mask itself does not appear to be on Amazon, although the disposable component is for about $500-600/yr. Does anyone have a source for this that doesn't require a prescription? I bought mine at the cpapshop.com...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

My suggestions on the Bleep after a few months. I know others have raised some or all of these points, but I figure can't hurt to repeat. I think the mask would basically be perfect with: a more flexible hose, like the Resmed n30 (or the p10, I guess?) a diffuser (which I am aware they are working ...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

Stuart confirmed the noise wasn't unexpected (so don't expect "silence"), but he suggested making sure the diffuser is tight against the vent, potentially using rubber bands to ensure that. This is what I have done once ... the noise has completely disappeared. But my spo2 level went down, not dras...

Re: Recommend a mask!

I am currently using Resmed F30i. I love it. So far the perfect nasal mask for me. I have tried dreamwear nasal & nasal pillows, but Resmed's version fits me better. I believe you mean N30i as the F30i is the fullface version ...and one problem I got with de full face version is the largest model i...

Re: Recommend a mask!

Looking for another nasal mask. Here is a relatively new design. It's lightweight and comfortable. Note the attachment point of the hose. It doesn't pull on the mask. It attaches to a very stable point. This eliminates a common cause of mask leak - hose pull. Click on the reviews tab and read. This...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

You have good answers from Pugsy and Djams, I would add that some people reported noise coming from the joint between the vent and the vent swivel. To solve this problem, I put teflon tape. Pugsy, I'm happy for you if it's very quiet with a pressure of 25. But there are so many people making a home...

Re: Beer and sleep apnea

For the science, I encourage Bubba1 to drink as much beer as he wants and to take screenshots of his stats to share with us. Personally, I avoid all alcohol and food during the last three hours before going to bed.
