is it posible to help him breath better by adjusting Ti min/max as well as the cycle and trigger setting?

Re: Wisdom for my dad's cpap data
Is he able to resolve the congestion issues with medication or nasal sprays at all? Has he tried anything? Seen a doctor for it? If the answer is nothing has worked to ease the congestion then he needs a full face mask. His congestion is probably forcing him to need to mouth breathe to be comfortab...

Re: Wisdom for my dad's cpap data

Is the OptiLife your mask or his? phillips dreamwear. yes he has nasal congestion almost all day He has...

Re: Wisdom for my dad's cpap data
He did complain about too much pressure and there was very little change in th enumber of events. The highest the machine went to was barely over 15...compared to his 13 max before the change. I suspect what he is sensing isn't so much the pressure increasing but the increased air flow that the mac...

Re: Wisdom for my dad's cpap data
Hypothetically if he actually is experiencing CA would switching to auto be worse? Better or no change? Might make the centrals worse IF (big if) the centrals were caused by pressure in the first place and then IF more pressure made them even worse. If the centrals were caused by the pressure itsel...

Re: Wisdom for my dad's cpap data
what would the major change be when switching to auto? He needs more pressure to deal with the OAs.....that's a given. Going to Auto will let the machine decide how much and when. And why wouldnt it have been set to auto to begin with? Beats the hell out of me. Some docs don't understand how ...

Re: Wisdom for my dad's cpap data
What position does he sleep in usually? He seems to have a lot of centrals/CAs at the beginning of a sleep session but not so much after. Makes me wonder if he is taking a little while to fall asleep and what we are seeing are false positive awake breathing irregularities in the centrals for the mo...

Re: Wisdom for my dad's cpap data
How did he come by these settings? Did he have a sleep study done in a lab with a tech fiddling with things? Is he reporting waking often during the night? Spend much time with mask and machine on? Obviously leaks are a problem...is he complaining about them? Could your review this thread for graph...

Wisdom for my dad's cpap data
My dad has been on cpap for almost 3 years now. Apparently I just discovered that its poor performance was the cause of his daily headaches and the adjustments we've made have helped almost totally eliminate them. However, he is still have a very high AHI rate and I'm wondering if anyone has any wis...

Re: Low AHI but still lightheaded dizzy sleepy fatigued
B12 complex vitamins should help somewhat with giving you some energy during the day. Depending on the mg you may have to take 2 or perhaps take one before bed to give you energy in the morning as they take a few hours for results to begin. When my treatment isn't working right, like now, it at leas...

Re: Treatment all of a sudden became less effective in July
Looks like pressure lines from an ASV bilevel machine....a regular ResMed bilevel doesn't have variable PS. He hasn't included the usual stuff on the left side of the detailed report that shows machine and settings though. While I haven't had inadvertent leaks from my mouth I have begun to wonder i...

Re: Treatment all of a sudden became less effective in July
To the OP: Are you using a BiPAP due to Central (or mixed) Sleep Apnea, or only because you need such high pressures? Also, you might want to try a regular nasal mask. Your pressures are very high, so nasal mask might be less leaky. Originally I was diagnosed with central apnea but from what I unde...

Re: Treatment all of a sudden became less effective in July
I’m going to chime in we’re because the leaks look very similar in length and total duration as to what I was experiencing. After going with mouth tape and virtually being leak free I sleep quite a bit better. Definitely more refreshed as well even though AHI was unchanged. I think there is so many...

Re: Treatment all of a sudden became less effective in July
How old is the headgear? I have briefly used the OptiLife in the past. The headgear is real easy to stretch out. The leak is intermittent so I don't think a hole in the hose or something like that. Usually when that happens the leak is constant and doesn't come and go. I just replaced the entire he...
