Re: Resmed airsense 11 odor?
Bipap was PS 3-8 and ipap20 epap 7.5. Yep, that can't be duplicated on an APAP. What are the settings you are currently using? Sorry for slow reply, airsense 11 is 10.4 it’s like it’s to little but 10.6 was way to high. That reductive valve I forget it’s name is set to 3. I still get a weird smell ...

Re: Resmed airsense 11 odor?
After calling and bugging the DME to change the settings Tip: Learn to change your own settings. Almost everyone who spends any time here takes charge of their therapy. Pugsy is the one who got me dialed in on my old machine. The DME scared me at first saying I couldn’t change them but caught her i...

Re: Insurance vs self pay
He was told the usual lie DMEs tell people..."it's against the law for you to change anything and if you do then your insurance won't pay for the machine and thus YOU will have to pay for it"....he's on Medicaid and obviously can't afford to pay so they scared the bejesus out of him. He knows how t...

Re: Resmed airsense 11 odor?
I was using the DreamStation auto bi pap as I had bought that machine in 2019. It no longer has the foam in it as I removed it. I decided to try my luck with insurance and have them pay for it. They said I had to go through the motions with the auto cpap first before I could even consider the bi pap...

Re: Insurance vs self pay
If I had the money I’d self pay. Well I do but chose to go through insurance. Already know it’s going to be headaches. I gotta call Monday to have pressure turned up a lot and a couple other things. I know how to do it myself but am Leary to go into the machine. If I didn’t have this older machine a...

Resmed airsense 11 odor?
Anyone notice a strange odor from there’s maybe it’s like a new car smell but I don’t care for it ? This is the second night using it and my Philips dreamstation never smelled like this when new. I did see a tear down of the 11 on YouTube and holy smokes there’s a lot of foam in this thing. If you h...

Re: Beer and sleep apnea
Reading through older post here I have experimented myself and alcohol does make ahi number a lot higher, most the time AHI is 1-2.5 and alcohol makes it go almost to 8 sometimes. I realize now before the cpap machine I use to drink a lot to help myself go to sleep at night, who would have thought a...

Re: BiPap St Cost $$$$$
They sure do, DME's LIE, I feel like I am reading all my own frustration a month ago here. I wish I could say it will get better but I got fed up and bought my own machine. Best thing i ever did, getting more rest every night now. These prices are outrageous, Bottom line whatever you decide you need...

Re: Still Feeling Tired
There are some lucky people that get immediate relief once they start using their machine. Others, like myself, take longer and the change is very subtle. One day it dawns on you that you are no falling asleep while watching a movie or riding in a car, and you wonder, WOW when did that start? I'm i...

Re: Where do I even begin
I've seen the cleaning machines online for your mask and the humidifier tray, has anyone put the plastic tray in the dishwasher before or does it just get way to hot in there?? I always wipe mine dry every morning and do wash it with dawn soap from time to time, was just kinda curious.

Re: Where do I even begin
You can go to a trucker forum and ask the truckers and they will tell you what my husband said (who happens to be one of those truckers) that some truckers recommend surge protectors and some don't. He said he wouldn't see the need and would just use the cigarette lighter if it was him. Thats what ...

Re: Where do I even begin
Oh I'm sure there is a forum, i just thought I'd ask here, I have seen YouTube videos of where a lot use the cigarette lighter adapter but was wondering if with that if it gets some kinda surge. That cigarette lighter adapter does have a fuse built into it so hopefully it would pop it before the mac...
