Does anyone here use a tongue device?
If so which one do you use, and how has it helped you compared to CPAP?

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
Last night I tried with just 3 holes taped over. AHI of 0.3! Wow! I have never seen numbers that low before.
I need to try and understand whats going on here!

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
So I tried this last night. I taped over 6 out of 13 holes on front of the Dreamwear FFM. I got an AHI of 1.5 last night! Normally get between 5-6. Also, I slept through the whole night where I normally get up at least once. Very interesting. I wouldn't say I feel any different though.. I think I wi...

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
Said my CO2 levels were slightly high on my in-lab study and that more PS would help me take deeper breaths which should help this. But now it seems that the higher PS may be making me blow off too much CO2 and trigger centrals?! So trying to find a happy balance with a view to not feeling so tired ...

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
Very interesting. Agreed, I'd not do it "just because", but in testing I get exclusively centrals with any PS above 2.. Doctor recommends trying to get PS to around 4, which gives me an AHI of around 5 normally - all central. I am thinking I might try taping over a small portion of the vents as a tr...

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
Happy to try that, would doing so not negate the benefit of using a BIPAP machine though? I thought the purpose of BIPAP was all about having a pressure differential. As I understand it the pressure differential would help with my CO2 being on the high side. Yes, but if that ps is causing centrals....

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
If you are wanting to reduce centrals...try reducing the PS from 3.4 to maybe 2.4 or lower and see what happens. Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
Thanks for looking it over!
Curious - would raising the Min EPAP make any impact? I seem to be sensitive to raising the PS too much at its current setting of 7 - seems to trigger more CA's.

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
No meds
Slightly overweight but not other real health problems
I normally wake up after about 6 hours of sleep then have what feels like broken up sleep for the last couple of hours. So around 6-8 hours per night is average.

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
Sure, great idea - here are charts from a typical day on my previous APAP - interestingly the peak of the flow rate does look slightly flatter!

BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired
Hi folks, I recently moved to a BiPAP machine as I was still feeling tired during the day while using the APAP machine. After using APAP for over a year with less-than-great results we did an in-lab sleep study. This showed my CO2 levels were slightly higher than normal, and apparently BiPAP can hel...
