Re: New APAP user (UARS) some questions

Q 1: Obviously from an AHI perspective my sleep looks tremendous, but that's not surprising given that I don't have sleep apnea. I notice that the flow limit. jumps before the pressure increases significantly, several times a night - could this still be a sign of arousals/increased resistance? My u...

Re: Bleep dreamport mask

I have a few questions for more experienced users of this mask. 1- What type mask do you set the Resmed S10 autoset to ? 2- Did you have to make any pressure changes for using this mask ? 3- I have the diffuser so I don't hear any leaks. But Oscar doesn't agree, My AHI's are now higher than day 1 o...

I guess I'm still confused by this in the OP then: "unlike the N30 i".

I have been using the N30i and P30i masks for many months.
The OP is asking about the N30; not the N30i.

I think your plan of action makes sense dwunder. Give it a try and report back?

Re: Aircurve 10 ASV ok as bipap?

The thing about ASV you need to be aware of is this: It's designed to constantly adjust pressure support, often aggressively. With the Resmed machine, you actually can't configure it to act like a standard bilevel, because it is restricted to a minimum delta between min and max PS of 5. Some people ...

Re: ASV CPAP Suspected UARS

If im needing 12CM of pressure for CPAP, what should I set the EPAP too on ASVauto mode with a PS of 4. The ASV is designed to continuously vary the PS, often quite dramatically. Set the min EPAP so you don't have any obstructive events, let the ASV handle the rest. Default is min PS of 4 and max o...

What does a two-minute close up of the flow rate graph look like?

That's often a *target* for forced ventilation, it's not something that's significant for someone that's not on a ventilator.
Why I put "normal" in quotes.

My point was simply that the inspiratory number absent other data isn't very meaningful.

Re: Breathing much faster with VAUTO. Why?

I used to have AutoSet for Her, and my inhale time was around 2 seconds. With Vauto, my medium inhale time is barely over 1s. That's not necessarily a problem. What's your median expiratory time? The "normal" ratio is 1:2. So let's first establish there's an actual problem. Also, you might post the...

Re: ASV Question

I just had a Titration last night over 7 hours I woke up after 5 hours and they still wasn't finished. They really took their time with this one the doctor prescribed, me 12cm CPAP, I'm suspecting a UARS component in there, I asked them to get rid of all flow limitations. I feel I had made a mistak...

Re: UARS CPAP setting? Help me interpret OSCAR data

You might try raising your min pressure a bit, but with EPR of 3, and see how you do.

The idea is EPR can help with the flow limitations that can lead to the RERAs characteristic of UARS.

And you'll have to be patient; it can take weeks or months to adjust.

I'm basically trying to eliminate any flow restrictions and gain the highest sleep quality.
Any is perhaps too high a bar to attempt to reach. The ASV algorithm should address this generally. How common do you see that kind of pattern?

It's surprising to me that you have no reported centrals at a PS of 9.
