Re: Flonase (fluticasone)
That stuff really works. I've been breathing clear since the first squirt. Dr. Google says that there are no ill effects from prolonged use. Can that be true? It's not expensive and it's not difficult to use. My son used Flonase years ago for his seasonal allergies. After a few months he started ha...

Re: dreamwear full face mask leaking
I can side sleep with my Dreamwear full perfectly fine. The other tube flows well for pressure. Only thing is, it seems there is still air flowing in the tube on the pillow side and it echos loudly right next to your ear, and your hand cupped right there kinda acts like a megaphone. Aside from that...

Re: Hi there
To everyone who's not cleaning the machine and tubing much, which sounds great, are you also never changing out the machine filters or do you still do that monthly?

Re: HELP: Initial CPAP Results
Per the advice of several, I'm going to try and keep all my questions in this single thread. Disabling EZ Start (thanks Pugsy) and setting pressure to 7-20 has dropped my AHI from 12 after the first two nights on EZ Start to 4.7 and 5.5 the 3rd and 4th nights. Still a ways to go, but at least it's i...

Re: HELP: Initial Auto CPAP Results (After 2 Nights)
I wouldn't wait to increase the minimum. I would need to see the detailed software report to really have a good idea what to increase it to ....I don't like to make guesses when detailed information is available but 7 cm is certainly a good choice and not a big jump and you should be able to manage...

Re: HELP: Initial Auto CPAP Results (After 2 Nights)
Go here and request the clinical/provider manual for your machine. https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-pressure/change-cpap-pressure-settings-adjusting-your-machine-with-a-clinician-setup-manual Instructions on how to get it via email are about 2/3 down the page. I know the short cut instruction...

Re: HELP: Initial Auto CPAP Results (After 2 Nights)
Thanks. Does anyone know how to adjust the minimum pressure in a Dreamstation Auto CPAP? I have looked in the settings and can't find anything?

Re: Recently diagnosed with sleep apnea
I recently was diagnosed with sleep apnea. However, the path to this was a long one. It all started with depression, anxiety, lack of attention & focus, fatique, never feeling like I get a good nights sleep and stomach/GI issues. I have seen multiple general physicians, psychiatrists and gastroente...

HELP: Initial CPAP Results
Hello everyone, this is my second post, I already posted my initial home sleep study results which gave me a an AHI of 16.3 due to a high # of hypopneas while sleeping on my back. I have nasal congestion so we decided to start on a full-face mask. Anyway, I started CPAP 2 nights ago, equipment in si...

Re: Initial Sleep Study Results
For the mask, as a newbie should I start off with a nose only or a mouth/nose one? I have always had trouble breathing through my nose, especially while laying down, and that might be contributing to my issue. I had a rhino/septoplasy done last year to help, and it helped some, but I still get a con...

Re: Initial Sleep Study Results
2) How severe is this sleep apnea? With these numbers, could I see an improvement in the ailments above with a CPAP? Your numbers are VERY good, many don't get that low WITH therapy. A CPAP machine might help with the hypopneas, and if it's offered, can't see any reason to NOT try it. OK, so if I'm...

Re: Initial Sleep Study Results
If this cost is on your dime, then I would suggest getting a bi-level machine so that the possibility of pressure intolerance is covered by being able to have a significant reduction the exhale pressure while keeping the therapeutic pressure on inhale. It will cost more but not a huge amount. So no...

Re: Initial Sleep Study Results
Thanks for those quick responses! Let me consolidate my question again: Based on this in-home test, is it now acceptable/standard procedure for me to begin on a APAP/CPAP machine versus dive deeper into diagnostics and maybe do an in-lab study? And if going to CPAP/APAP now, I guess these machines w...

Initial Sleep Study Results
New member, I'm a 37 yr/old male, 220 lbs. Have been suffering from low T (250), slightly high blood pressure, and anxiety/depression for the last 3-4 years. Finally convinced my GP to order a sleep study and did an in-home study via Alice NightOne was conducted couple weeks back. Just got the resul...
