Re: qualifying for a new sleep study
by the way, I think I will try to find a different forum. administrators, you have me permission to delete my profile. I can't seem to do it myself. I will just delete all my profile information & let you delete me permanently. If I don't find a different forum, then I guess I don't need a forum to ...

Re: qualifying for a new sleep study
Now, before the ragging begins, I am sure that not EVERYONE who buys used is a self-diagnosed person. I am sure that some of you who buy used do have a prescription, but choose to save money by buying used as your 20% co-pay can be pricey and you decide not to use your insurance by going through a D...

Re: qualifying for a new sleep study
You are supposed to have a doctor's prescription in order to purchase CPAP equipment. Self diagnosis explains why so many people on this forum are buying used equipment from members of this forum , Ebay or Craig's list. No prescription required if buying used from sources other than authorized suppl...

Re: qualifying for a new sleep study
it amazes me how someone can decide for whatever reason they need CPAP/APAP therapy & just go out & buy the equipment without doctor intervention. I am not that daring & would want a doctor to prescribe it & would want insurance to pay for 80%. This equipment is too expensive for insurance to not be...

Re: Well that didn't go all that great/newbie questions
I am about to switch from Dreamwear nasal pillows to Resmed n30i. I should get my new mask this coming week. If I have nose pain issues from the hard plastic cushion, I will switch to the P30i. I am keeping my Dreamwear Full face mask (with pad a cheek liners) for those nights I just can't get my si...

Re: Well that didn't go all that great
I had a split study. I was also told I had to sleep the entire night on my back in order to get accurate results. I was told that if I roll over or move, I would have to start over on another night. I told them I am a side sleeper & I WILL roll over, so they "bolstered" me with additional blankets, ...

Re: Resmed N30I Causing Painful Nose
some people use the N30i and have no issues, so I will start with that first. If I have pain or it is just plain uncomfortable, I will ask my DME to give me the p30i instead. When I switched from the standard cushion for the dreamwear nasal & that didn't work out for me, I asked my DME for JUST the ...

Re: Spammer alert
I tried spam with bacon once. I figured it would be delicious. I like Ham & I like bacon, so I should have loved Spam with bacon.. NOT! What's funny is I grew up eating Spam in the 70's when the only flavor you got was... SPAM. My dad loved the stuff. Maybe that's why I don't care for it now since I...

Maybe someday, with the help of my husband and many others doing research for Stanford University, a cure for Sleep Apnea will be found

Re: SD card and slot for in laptop
pale rider, why do you have it in for me? what did I ever do to you? You seem to have a problem with EVERYTHING I post. Not that it really matters, but I have an ASUS gaming computer. My husband's computer has no name brand because he bought the parts separately & built it himself. I call it a "supe...

Re: SD card and slot for in laptop
my husband used to build his own computers, but now computers have come down in price. He calculated the cost of parts & found it more expensive to continue building them from scratch. He built his "super computer" several years ago that he uses for "folding" (medical research). He replaces parts as...

Re: Next to Lip Irritation
I had the same problem when I used the F20. I did need liners in order for it to be more comfortable & stop the farting noises. I also recommend pad a cheek liners. Insurance doesn't cover them, but they are very good liners and my favorite brand. Karen is amazing to deal with if you have issues wit...

Re: SD card and slot for in laptop
Goofproof, I have to disagree. I did not buy a "cheap" computer. My computer tech guru husband does not buy cheap computers. He looks for QUALITY. He does his homework & buys what he wants based on features & quality not price. If he happens to luck into a really good sale, then great, but price is ...

Re: Newbie Problems
since he is using the dreamwisp, he may prefer the hose on the head option. In that case, I recommend the Dreamwear Full face mask or the dreamwear nasal mask or nasal pillow option. is he using a chin strap? that may be all he needs instead of a new mask. I recommend the halo or ruby style chin str...
