Re: "Dying" To Find ST-A User to Help Me
The ultimate fix for leaks, however, is silicon earplugs.... Also, I HIGHLY recommend you try herbal medications first, for sleep and relaxation, such as Valerian and many others, before you go and take prescriptions ones. And whatever you do, stay away from Clonazepam and other benzos, they are ex...

Re: "Dying" To Find ST-A User to Help Me
Sorry, I've been on IVAPs for a while, but I don't know how to help with your flow limitations and oxygen desats. My apnea is caused by chronic hypoventilation. The ultimate fix for leaks, however, is silicon earplugs such as Mack's brand or similar. You make a gasket with it and stick it on your ma...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
If ASV isn't doing it for you you may want to check out Alternative approaches to treatment of Central Sleep Apnea I don't know how to get my insurance to cover EERS titration since on paper the ASV is working for me just fine, but they don't measure CO2. I think my issue might be too much carbon d...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
A faint influx of air is exactly what shallow breathing is. Not if it's followed by a full breath. The fact that you're *playing* with the machine, trying to find some fault does not mean that there's a fault. All bilevel machines have a trigger threshold, a certain rate of inhalation before they a...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
Well, it seems you've made up your mind, and there's nothing I can do to help here. Best of luck. You seem to declare things without providing your reasoning behind it. If shallow breathing is not "breathing" then what is it and how should it be treated? And what exactly am I misinterpreting about ...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
You are looking at the peak flow in the flow chart, at the bottom on the wave. The exhale is still going, till you inhale. The other factor is that the charts may not exactly line up. does that really matter. Pressure is a bit averaged and mask pressure is at that moment. as an example. Turn off th...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
I would not call that tiny amount of air flow an inhalation, your inhalation starts where the green line is, if you look, you'll see that the timing for it is consistent with the breaths before it. Again I know for a fact that those are inhalations because I've tested it before and immediately chec...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
It's in the image above, the green line is lined up with the very start of the pressure increase. And it's also at the start of your inhalation. Yes, there's a tiny amount of apparent inhalation showing before the start of your actual inhalation, but that's not an inhale. I'm not seeing this latene...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
Here is an example of the machine being late to start pressure support on inhalation. This looks like the culprit. There are no flags here, only the leak from me being disturbed in my sleep, feeling like I'm not getting enough air. As soon as pressure support goes down abruptly, the machine is late ...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
I definitely feel it and it's like breathing using a straight CPAP without any exhalation relief for a second. Then it goes back to normal. I can see it on the machine screen as well, the PS goes bellow minimum sometimes (the same way it does when you first start the machine before the pressure supp...

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
The only flags are flow limit that sometimes follows the pressure cuts. Other times there are no events anywhere near it.

Re: S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
But that's the thing, it will still go below it no matter what the pressure support is set to. Right now I'm on EPAP 9 with PSmin 5 and PSmax of 15. I've tried many different pressure combinations including the PSmin at 1 and PSmin at 6. I've seen this on other people's graphs as well, it cuts press...

S9 Adapt pressure support cutting in and out
Hi everyone, I have S9 adapt that I've been on for 5 years for complex sleep apnea and I know this is a "feature" of the Resmed ASV machines, but I've never gotten used to it. Almost every time it drops abruptly or cuts the minimum pressure support down to zero I start hyperventilating or miss a bre...
