Re: EVIDENCE OF AIRFIT P10 VENT OBSTRUCTION CAUSING HYPERCAPNIA (also N30?)
I’m on month 20 with a P10 and have certainly experienced clogged vents, which didn’t feel great I have to admit. Since then, i’ve been soaking the mask with a drop of dawn added to the water every few weeks and sometimes giving it a gentle scrub with a new, soft toothbrush. Sparkling clean.

Re: Nervous about swapping to Resmed from Philips
I had a Dreamstation for the first 3 weeks on CPAP. I had such a hard time adjusting as it made me feel like I had to adjust my breathing to the machine rather than vice versa. I found it much easier to adjust to the Resmed machine. Having said that, the first weeks were definitely difficult but got...

Re: Why the hell would you use a humidifier on your CPAP
I’m curious, do you use distilled water? The only time the air I was breathing has smelled was when I used tap water, as I had run out of distilled. Our drinking water is perfectly clean and has no noticeable smell. But, breathing it in such concentrated fashion, one can certainly smell that it is n...

Re: Noobie Story from Canada
In Ontario the Testing is paid for by OHIP, but otherwise the racket is similar to what you describe. After my first experience with one of the DMEs I called around and “interviewed” places to see how they would proceed and got a different loaner machine (I had wanted to try the Resmed machine). The...

Re: Chin straps
I wear a P10 mask with a scünci headband as a chin strap. I’ve cut a long slit into the headband to mimic how the strap for the P10 works, since I think it helps keeping it securely on.
Best of luck

Re: Unable to find a Mask that works
Being a side sleeper myself, I was reminded during a recent hotel stay that pillows can cause leaks when sleeping on the side. I have a relatively flat foam pillow at home (something cheap from Ikea, although there are Cpap pillows, too) and when I was using the fluffy, high loft hotel pillows, I ha...

Re: Using Nasal Pillow Mask, Dry Mouth - Chin Strap?
For a super cheap way to try a chin strap concept, use a scünci headband. It is effectively a tubular elastic. I actually cut a lengthwise slit of about 3-4 in into it and use it like the p10 headgear. Having said that I have long hair that I put up and that helps anchor all the gear

Re: How often do you change your pillows?
I’ve been using my P10 pillows about 6-7 months and they seem ok. I run them daily under the tap and put them into hot soapy water every week or two. Seem ok so far. Have bought a few replacements at a recent sale as I don’t rave a final prescription yet (long story).

Re: Searching for Most Comfortable Chin Strap to stop Mouth Leaks
I’ve been using a scunci headband into which I cut a 3-4” length-wise slit to mimic the P10 headgear. I find this works quite well and stays on my head. I’ve been using this in conjunction with a P10. Hope this helps.
