Re: Dry throat
I intend to reduce the humidity when the xylimelts arrive. But, the point is, you may not even need the Xylimelts if you turn down your HH settings. Do you do nasal cleansing before bedtime? If not, you may want to try that. Can you (normally) breathe through your nose? If not, you may want to try ...

Re: Dry throat
I used the xylimelts last night for the first time, I reduced the CPAP machine's humidity level from 8 to 6, my throat was not dry so I'd say the xylimelts do work & of course that is good!

Re: Dry throat
My mouth is always open due to the shape of my jaw - which is apparently what causes my sleep apnea.

Re: Nightmares
nightmares Do you happen to take melatonin supplements or any medications that might cause the nightmares? I take Citalopram which is an anti-depressant, one of the possible side-effects is nightmares, so in order to test this out I gradually reduced my dose & then was off them completely for a cou...

Nightmares
I've been having nightmares for over 30 years - this is why I requested a polysomnograhy, I was surprised when I was told there's a physical problem ie sleep apnea - as I thought it was all mental; I believe that I have PTSD as a result of a terrible childhood but I can't seem to get assessed - well...

Dry throat
What can I do to combat the fact that my CPAP machine makes my throat very dry? I wake up feeling like I haven't drank anything for days. The humidity is up as high as it will go. Mind you last night was different in that water was squirting in to my eye - but usually it's a dry throat.

Do CPAP machines use a lot of electricity?
I've had an electricity bill which is higher than what I think it should be - the bill period coincides with using my CPAP machine & I wonder if this is related.
