Re: Weird breathing patterns. Is this a problem?
Thank you so much, Pugsy. I can definitely recognize my sleeping, regular breathing and how it looks different when I'm awake before I drift off to sleep or as I go back to sleep after using the bathroom, but I didn't realize these weird areas were also when I was not fully asleep, too. They just lo...

Re: Weird breathing patterns. Is this a problem?
Oh, I forgot to say that I feel rested and think I'm doing well with CPAP. So there is no problem on that front.
Here is one more episode that was short but had lots of flags.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Weird breathing patterns. Is this a problem?
I'm having some weird breathing at times at night I've noticed on my OSCAR charts , and I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. At times it looks sort of like Cheyne Stokes breathing to my untrained eye, but sometimes it doesn't. They usually begin with an OA. I'll usually have 2-3 of these a ni...

Re: Is there a mouthguard that blocks mouth-breathing?
. . . Poli grip strips, cut then placed between lips, leaving a half inch in the middle. Or chin up strips, bulldog style. Two new things I haven't tried! Thanks, Chunkyfrog... but what is bulldog style? Are the Poli Grip strips difficult to remove from your lips in the morning? Are you applying th...

Re: Is there a mouthguard that blocks mouth-breathing?
I am experimenting with the Fischer Paykel oracle "mask". It is an oral mask, for those who cannot breathe through their nose. I have re-purposed it. It seals well around the mouth, with one flap of silicone between teeth and lips, and one flap over the outside of the mouth. I have tape over the ve...

Re: Newly diagnosed, waiting for next study
I totally understand how you feel, Rose. I was a little freaked out when I was first diagnosed too. The good news is that you will soon be treating your OSA, and that will be so much better for your body. You can’t go back in time and do anything about the possibility you’ve had sleep apnea you’ve h...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread
One thing that might help someone struggling with connecting the ports without leaks: The first night I wore the DreamPorts I had a huge leak when I hooked up to my big CPAP hose. I knew it wasn’t from the tape. When I went back to the mirror, I noticed that one of the ports wasn’t completely level ...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort Adhesive Sticky Situation
I've been using the Bleep/DreamPort for almost a week, and I love it. I've been following the Bleep/DreamPort mask review thread, but haven't seen my issue come up. I wasn't sure if I should post this there. I chose not to since it's not about a review, but I'm sorry if I've made a newbie mistake. ...

I'll try alcohol tomorrow morning and try to figure out the hospital grade stinky goo remover if necessary!

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread
I'm a newbie who's been using the Bleep/DreamPort for about a week. When I have a little more experience, I'll write a full review. Right now I'm having an issue with the adhesive leaving a film on my nose. I'm linking to a post I made about it here, because Pugsy said Stuart is monitoring this thre...
