Need a new mask ASAP
Hey Everyone! So when I got my CPAP machine for the first time, I went with the Airfit F30 as my mask choice as I liked the idea of not having anything covering my mouth and nose to start in case I felt claustrophobic. I found it comfortable, easy to use, and super quiet which was wonderful. The pro...

Re: Need Some Help with SleepyHead
My sleep quality is significantly better than before I started CPAP. I used to wake up at least 10+ times a night, and now I wake up maybe once. Even last night, with the higher AHI, I still feel quite rested this morning.

Re: Newbie questions
Do you have any other mental or physical heath issues? Do you take any medications of any kind...even OTC? If so what? Yes. I have panic and anxiety disorder, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and I am overweight. I weigh 250 and I'm 5’11” tall. I do take blood pressure medication, anti depress...

Re: Need Some Help with SleepyHead
Hey Everyone! So I gave it about a week after moving my minimum pressure up to 7, but now it seems my AHI has gone up along with it. The first few days were great, but the last few not so much. I'm attaching a sleepyhead screenshot from last night hoping one of you might be able to decipher it for m...

Re: Need Some Help with SleepyHead
Use the ramp if you need it to ease up to the 7 cm starting minimum. Set EPR to full time (you can still use ramp if you wish) and set it to 2 for now and see what happens in terms of aerophagia issues. The idea is hopefully the lower pressure on exhale will stop the air from entering the stomach s...

Re: Need Some Help with SleepyHead
Did you add EPR when you increased the pressure minimum to 7cm? If not that would be the first thing I did. If you did...increase it if you can. http://www.cpaptalk.com/wiki/index.php/Aerophagia Hi Pugsy - No, I didn't touch the EPR setting because I wasn't too sure what I was doing and it had two ...

Re: Need Some Help with SleepyHead
I took the advice given and upped my starting pressure to 7, which seems to have worked like a charm and left me with my lowest AHI since starting (0.19). With that said... I woke up this morning because of terrible stomach pains and very loud, large burps. After doing some reading online I have a h...

Re: Need Some Help with SleepyHead
watch all the videos here first. http://freecpapadvice.com/sleepyhead-free-software That you for the link - will watch through them today. I've been doing a lot of reading, both on here and off, but the technical information currently seems to go right over my head! Very motivated to learn, however...

Re: Need Some Help with SleepyHead
Welcome to the forum. 1st off you are doing great! I think that you need to kill the obstructive events first. You do that with more minimum pressure so you can prevent them from ever happening. If those were my charts I would bump the minimum pressure up to 10 and see how the machine performed. Yo...

Need Some Help with SleepyHead
Hey Everyone, I've been using my CPAP machine for about 10 days now (since March 15th), and while I keep transferring all of my data over to SleepyHead I honestly have no idea what any of it means. A little bit about me: * I do take a sleep medication, Zopiclone (5mg) every night before bed as well ...

Re: Worst Night Sleep of My Life
I also used to take Trazadone for sleep (prior to starting CPAP), and ended up having some negative reactions to it. When my doctor took me off I ended up going through some pretty bad withdrawal and it took about a week before my sleeping resumed to what it was before I started it. As someone who h...

Re: Feeling Down
2. So, I keep a sleep journal and write down all my complaints every morning, for example, the headgear elastic was cutting into the back of my head. Once I am awake and had my coffee, then I try to find solutions to my issues. I just keep trying something new every night. I tried loosening the mas...

Re: Feeling Down
I genuinely want to thank everyone for their responses. I don’t know anyone in my personal life that has sleep apnea or uses a CPAP so as one person mentioned, it does feel very isolating. Having such a welcoming and kind community means a lot and I hope as I stick with it I can a positive outcome l...

Feeling Down
Hi Everyone, This is my first post here, and I stumbled across this forum while trying to find some tips and tricks for getting used to using a CPAP machine. I just started with mine about 5 days ago, but I'm having the hardest time adjusting. It isn't the machine itself, or even the mask really, so...
