Is CPAP equally effective through only one nostril?
I only ever have one nostril open when I lie down. The other closes up almost completely.
Would this effect how much pressure I should need?

You might be a CPAP user if…
You might be a CPAP user if… Having a leak in the night doesn’t mean visiting the bathroom. You’ve been through so many masks you could open a second hand store. You’ve realised that if you’re not in the mood for ‘lovin’ you can quickly put your mask ON which quickly puts your partner OFF. You know...

Liam , it would be interesting to see some proper studies done on this type of thing. If you think about it physiotherapy to strengthen damaged or weakened muscles is such a proved and tested method that it’s employed all the time. Maybe some kind of physio for the airway could be developed? Of cou...

Rested gal, You’re completely right when you say: I think it's important to look at the Encore table chart to see just how much of your night was spent at pressures much, much lower than the highlighted "90%" number. And then consider the tradeoffs. Upping the lower pressure to essentially what you...

tonimari98 Excellent news ! You sound so much brighter than your earlier posts. The same thing has happened with me. After nearly three weeks, although I'm still dog tired all day and wish I could go on sleeping in the morning I've noticed that I feel like I've actually slept when I wake up. I've e...

Liam , you help to make this forum an actual pleasure to come to, when really it could be part of the pain. As Derek said: What I find so different about this board is the up-beat attitude, and the ability to laugh at ourselves in the presence of a somewhat intrusive nightly therapy. For me you’ve ...

rested gal, You are right in what you say and I too am a fan of autopaps (I have a REMstar with Cflex ) However I've noticed from my data that the smaller the range the less events I have e.g. If I have it set 4-20 I get AHIs of 6-8. If I set it to 6-20 I get AHIs of 4-5. When I set it to 10-20 (10 ...

That’s how I've been using it, usually each day. But when I recorded 5 nights in a row without downloading I found that the long term trend report showed the averaged AHI etc across all the nights, but there was no detail data for individual nights, except for the last night. This was a bummer becau...

Wader I'm on 10cm - 14cm at the moment. (I know 10cm seems high for a starting pressure, but this was my 10% at 4cm - 20cm and staying at 4-20 or even 6-20 was giving me an AHI of 6-8. With a 10cm starting pressure my AHI is down to 1.4- still experimenting though) There is a distinct whoosh as the...
