Re: AHI according to CPAP vs At Home Sleep study
+ Edit: just for your reference, here's a snapshot from one OA episode my machine recorded, from Sleepyhead. What are we supposed to get from that way too zoomed in screenshot? Turn off the right panel (f10) and place the event near the right side of the screen. But, first, tell us what you are exp...

Re: AHI according to CPAP vs At Home Sleep study
Your minimum may not be high enough...same for your Maximum. Who determined the pressures? Your charts are useless. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEASE-READ-BEFORE-POSTING.html Thank you! I haven't been able to get an in-lab sleep study until May. So I've just been expe...

AHI according to CPAP vs At Home Sleep study
A mail order at-home sleep test results showed that I had no sleep apnea whatsoever - AHI of 0.2. I suspect that the result is inaccurate, really, because the result also indicates that I was awake for around 40% of my sleep study due to caffeine (I should not have). So that test was done 2 weeks ag...

Re: Asians! Any full face mask suggestions?
Asian-heritage female here. I tried the F10, F30, and Dreamwear FFM. I only used the F10 for a week -- it put pressure on the bridge (?) of my nose that felt like the pressure I would put on it when trying to stop a nosebleed. The F30 worked for a few weeks but then leaked horribly. Dreamwear FFM i...

Re: Asians! Any full face mask suggestions?
Your best bet is to find a sleep technician or sleep doctor who is Asian. Preferably, one who has a nose similar to yours. Note also that you might need a different size that your overall dimensions might suggest if you live in European majority country. Quoted to preserve. This is gold, even bette...

Re: Asians! Any full face mask suggestions?
On a more serious note to "casereport"....have you tried Amara View? It makes contact under your nostrils & goes over your mouth. Nothing on the bridge of your nose. If you look after my name, click on my mask and you'll see a picture. Thank you! This will solve the leak issue, but my nose gets irr...

Re: Can continued CPAP use affect at-home test result?
The funny thing is, whenever I relax or manage to take a brief nap with CPAP, I do feel dramatically changed. Not enough to last for the rest of the days, but hours. i know you are speaking in relation to your low hour use. even so, baby steps. this good feeling from cpap treatment comes upon most ...

Asians! Any full face mask suggestions?
Asking all Asians(particularly East Asians?):
Most of the full face masks I've tried leak so badly because my nose bridge is relatively flat.
Any full face mask suggestions? I can't wear any nasal masks/nose pillows.

Re: Can continued CPAP use affect at-home test result?
The sleep test says: AHI 2.4 OAI 0.2 CAI 0.4 Lowest Desat(oxygen level) 89 But my CPAP says my last night's AHI, taken over 4 hours, was 8.5. Is it possible my practice has affected the test result? How reliable is an at-home test? That is a pretty dramatic difference. CPAP treats sleep apnea but i...

Re: Can continued CPAP use affect at-home test result?
How reliable is an at-home test? Depends on what class of at-home test it is... I think there's II, III and IV classes. Thanks! I got an at-home test from Singular Sleep, using Alice NightOne. Just got really perplexed that the result says my AHI is 0.2/hour. I still have all the classic symptoms o...

Re: Nasal pillows - inhaling ok, but exhaling through mouth
Maybe you'd do better with a hybrid mask? I'm a mouth-breather who has never been able to find a full face mask that fit right, and I can't use just the nasal pillows. I've got the mirage liberty (there's at least 1 more on the market now too) that has the nasal pillows and a small mask that goes o...

Can continued CPAP use affect at-home test result?
Hi, I have had all the markers(loud snoring, deviated septum, large tonsils, recent weight gain, etc.) and lots of risk factors for sleep apnea, but the at-home test I ordered from Singular Sleep indicates that I don't have sleep apnea (and recommends that I take in-lab test). I also remember that a...

Re: Nasal pillows - inhaling ok, but exhaling through mouth
- like air I try to exhale has to fight against the air the tube is blowing into my nose. What did I *JUST SAY* about the air *NOT* "blowing into your nose"? Um, a little confused here. Isn't the machine supposed to produce positive pressure (=which feels like wind, airflow, whatever) that gets lit...
