Re: Resmed S9 Menu Doesn't Give Autoset Option

Thanks for the additional description of the issue. Here are a couple of things you might consider trying. * It sounds as though you have a nasal mask or a nasal pillow mask. You might consider a full-face mask, at least for the times when your nose is feeling congested. There are some pretty minim...

Re: Resmed S9 Menu Doesn't Give Autoset Option

Could you describe the build up some more? Is air building up in your mouth? Do you have a feeling of exertion in your chest when you breath out? Do you feel like the machine is fighting you when you start to breath out? Also, is your nose clear, or do you have congestion? I do notice it more when ...

Re: Resmed S9 Menu Doesn't Give Autoset Option

As a followup question, would an APAP or BiPAP machine really make a big difference to solve the problem I am talking about? I have a really hard time sleeping with the constant pressure. It just builds up, making me feel like everything is overpressured, especially when I'm trying to breathe out. I...

Re: Resmed S9 Menu Doesn't Give Autoset Option

OK, I think I've sadly realized the problem. I thought that all the S9s were APAP machines, but it appears that is not the case. My thanks to everyone for their help! What is the mode;l name on the front of the machine above the power button? If it doesn't say AUTOSET, it is a fixed pressure machine...

Resmed S9 Menu Doesn't Give Autoset Option

So, I've searched everywhere for an answer to my problem but as I couldn't find it I'm posting a new thread; hope that's OK. My history with CPAP machines can be summed up as follows: Got an older used CPAP-only machine when my apnea started to get really bad a few years ago. Used it for a few month...

Re: Newbie Questions - Starting with which machine should I buy?

OK, so far the recommendation is to look for a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her, which is one of the ones I had been looking at. Is that pretty much accepted by the forum then as the machine most likely to be able to make work? Again, I'm concerned that I'll spend all this money and then not be ab...

Re: Newbie Questions - Starting with which machine should I buy?

As far as masks....one question to start with. Do you have chronic nasal congestion issues that pretty much force you to mouth breathe a lot or is your nose clear for the most part with only maybe occasional congestion like when you have a cold or allergies act up? No, my asthma is pretty much a lu...

Newbie Questions - Starting with which machine should I buy?

Hello to everyone! I am new to the world of CPAP and though I've been reading your boards and watching all sorts of youtube videos in the end there's no substitute for just asking some of my questions directly to you all. Apologies if some of this is covered elsewhere; I remember seeing a lot of com...
