Re: New leaks don't know why

I was getting leaks on the bridge of my nose, so I now just wear a Band-Aid over the bridge of my nose, and literally, no more leaks. Hooray!

Re: Dealing with angry sleep docs

I have found that most, if not all, of the docs I see don't remember my case or what 's going on with me, or when they saw me last, or even if they saw me. If it's not documented, it didn't happen. To them, I'm just one of the 30-or-so patients they saw that day. My Neurologist, who is also a sleep ...

Re: Possible scam?

I've had a few occurrences of that acrid smell waking me up. I've had to turn the humidifier setting down so the water lasts all night. Grrr…. I just hate that smell!

Re: CPAP set too high?

I had another sleep study done and my pressures went from 13 to 10. The DME re-set my machine remotely (how convenient is that???). Breathing is so much easier now, and I'm back to sleeping through the night. Thank goodness!

Re: CPAP set too high?

Resmed something-or-other. Full face mask. Originally pressure was set at 9, then a year ago when my 1st machine died, I did another sleep study that showed I needed it set to 13. The machine is set by the DME and as I'm in the US, I can't access the program. I've got an appt. for another titration ...

Re: SoClean?

The good news is that the half-life of ozone is only 30 minutes. And since you leave it closed for 4 hours, all that's left is the residual ozone smell. And there isn't a high enough ozone concentration to kill stuff in the water tank, so I think you're pretty safe as long as you leave the machine c...

CPAP set too high?

How do you know when your pressures are set too high? Is it detrimental if the pressure is too high? For 2 months now, my CPAP air pressure has been blowing out my cheeks, and now my mouth is open when I've never in my entire life been a mouth breather, and it's leaving my mouth totally dry. Serious...

Re: Not adjusting to CPAP, TMJD and sinus problems, seeking advice

Hi SDBud. You were dealt a tough hand to play. I'm sorry your teeth were too big for your mouth. My brother had the same problem (and the same solution). And I'm very sorry about your TMJD. I know how extremely painful that is. I hope you find a workable, tolerable solution for your CPAP therapy. F...

Re: 2 Questions related to getting a new machine

I'm on my 2nd machine. I had regular insurance with my 1st one and have Medicare with my new one. Both regular insurance and Medicare pay for them in monthly installments. My 1st machine co-pay was $20 per month for 10 months and then I owned it. With Medicare, my 2nd machine costs me a $9 co-pay pe...

Re: ZITS!

Hi Laura. This happened to me too. Zit City! Turns out I'm extremely sensitive to silicone. I covered the entire silicone part of my full face mask with moleskin (the only thing that would stick to it) and achieved instant success. I bought a 24" long roll of 4 5/8" wide moleskin made by Dr. Scholl'...

Re: Green Pus Pockets?

I am extremely sensitive to silicone which is what my full face mask is made of and broke out something fierce wherever it touched my skin. I solved the problem by covering the silicone with moleskin. Overnight success. Do you think you might have the same sensitivity to your mask?
