AirSense 10 Autoset issue -- need constant pressure!?!?
I have been using CPAP 21 years, and until recently was using a 10-yr old Remstar Auto with CFLEX (pressure drops when exhaling) set as CPAP at 10.5 cm with CFLEX. That has been working for me, other than humidity issues mainly, and dry mouth. I now have a new Airsense 10 Autoset and the doctor's of...

Re: Hello. Need new CPAP. Septoplasty recovery. Afrin. Sleep study
I got my take-home sleep test today and will try to fall asleep with it tonight, but am wondering if I can. I've been using CPAP for 21 years every night, and am wondering if I'll start gasping awake and never fall asleep. I have to drive 20 miles to return the equipment tomorrow whether or not I ge...

Thanks to all who have replied, and I see some good info. I'll start working on getting a split night sleep study done right away, as that's a required step. A word on Afrin in my experience : it's addictive in a way and you need to be so careful that you limit use. I don't recommend it unless you a...

Ask your doctor about using the nasal splints after your surgery. That is what my doctor used after I had mine several years ago. I hardly noticed them being in my nose. When it came time to have them emoved, they slid right out without causing any bleeding. The recovery for that portion of my surg...

Re: Hello. Need new CPAP. Septoplasty recovery. Afrin. Sleep study
If you end up having to have a repeat sleep study....ask the doctor for an order for what is called a "split night sleep study". That way if you meet criteria to be put on cpap they stop the test and slap the mask on you for the rest of the night. This will limit your time sleeping without cpap. Me...

Hello. Need new CPAP. Septoplasty recovery. Afrin. Sleep study
Hi, I’m glad I found you. I had my first and only sleep study in April 1997 (OSA diagnosis) and have been on CPAP since. I’m on my 3rd machine, a REMstar auto w/CFLEX, about 10 years old. I’m worried my CPAP will fail someday and I have no backup. I’ve been managing with this but recently (months-ye...
