Re: Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
I'm back from a vacation, thank you everyone for your good ideas. I changed the settings right away to 9-20 and have had almost ZERO drowning-sensation events since then. Woohoo! Here's last night. My AHI numbers are a little bit better than before I switched settings, but not much... Screen Shot 20...

Re: Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
I think your apnea is not well-treated. 4 is supposedly "therapeutic" but it's not optimal. Most of us who are getting good results from CPAP are well under 1.0 consistently. Seems like you need to do some tweaking to get there, and the data will help us see why your AHI's are still less than optim...

Re: Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
I've had similar issues with the front neck muscles. I was going for massage and the therapist helped with those muscles. A physical therapist had told me that those muscles were enlarged but at the time I may not have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I've had a lot of issues and saw a specialist i...

Re: Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
Good idea! I do not know how to do that, I downloaded the software but need to learn more about how to pull data from my machine. Will try to figure it out tonight. There is usually a little water left in the reservoir in the mornings. Leaks awaken me frequently, and I'm going to try to get help fro...

Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
I was diagnosed with severe OSA in 2009 (35/hr). Have tried many dental devices but finally submitted to using CPAP nightly in Feb. 2019. The CPAP has reduced my AHI index to 4, but my sleep remains jumpy and fragmented. And the side effects are awful and I am seeking help. Problem 1: The muscles on...

Re: I don't have to feel alone!? Maybe I can do it this time - aerophagia, you shall not defeat me!
Update - I've now tried the mask for 3 nights. First night I took it off after 30 min because I felt like I was suffocating. 2nd night I took it off after 30 min because the pressure was too high and making me burp like crazy. Third night: surprise! I reduced the max pressure to 8 (7 is min) and KEP...

Re: I don't have to feel alone!? Maybe I can do it this time - aerophagia, you shall not defeat me!
LOL fair enough. In my current renewed vigor for solving my apnea, I have been reading probably too much online and wanting to do EVERYTHING possible. But the CPAP is the most important and effective, so they say. I just am scared I won't be able to use it...but I'm committed to keep trying. Last ni...

Re: To the people that struggled with depression before CPAP
I appreciate everyone sharing their experience here. And so glad to hear Snoring and Snorting that you FINALLY got the right answer for your health problems! I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea in 2009. Prior to that and since, I've had a few episodes of severe depression (clinically diagnosed) ...

Thank you so much for your kind support. I will try 7 tonight. Sitting here on the couch with it on too. Will report back.
I'm also wondering if I should try exercises or the oboe or didgeridoo...https://www.sleepapnea.org/treat/sleep- ... digeridoo/

Re: I don't have to feel alone!? Maybe I can do it this time - aerophagia, you shall not defeat me!
I know how to change the pressure myself so I can change it to whatever. It's an auto so I can do like 6-14 or something. The setting is at 6 right now. At my last titration, the report said 12 was the highest pressure reached and it only reduced my AHIs by 50% (this still made me feel like a new wom...

Ah, I'm so glad I didn't commit a Newbie sin by leaving out my equipment! I'm eager to obey the rules of the community. 8) Who among us can possibly read all the things in front of us on the screen every day? I never blame people for missing things, especially in long posts like mine was. Speaking o...

Hi all, I just found this group, which I think I've needed for the entire 10 years since I was diagnosed with severe OSA (35 arousals/awakenings per hour). I've tried CPAP a couple of times over the years and failed. I've tried the following in order to avoid the CPAP: -----Frenectomy -----like 6 di...
