Re: How low does your heart rate get while sleeping?

Checked my HR monitor and saw that I went down to 36 BPM about 4 hours after going to sleep. wow. You really need to see a cardiologist. There are a lot of fingers that potentially could be pushing in on this balloon and without seeing the whole picture nobody is going be able to say why the balloo...

Re: How low does your heart rate get while sleeping?

My father has a similar low heart rate (Bradycardia) normal resting during the days is low 40s, and sleeping will drop as low as 35 or 36. He had an issue while taking a blood pressure medicine, and the cardiologist took him off the BP meds. Blood pressure would drop to as low as a recorded 110/56 a...

This might be a good time to check out a respironics total face mask--(the fitlife).
That does not touch the nose at all--unless you look like Cyrano.
Oh my! I should have got one of those a month ago. With all the rain we've been having I'd certainly be feeling safer, lol.

Re: CPAP difficulties after surgery, Help please

Thanks much for the tips. I'll need to do a little more research on both a full face mask and the Bleep mask. Not sure how the Bleep mask would perform as a tug on my nose could be more than uncomfortable at this point. I did have a little better success with the gel pillows last night, breaking my ...

CPAP difficulties after surgery, Help please

Thanks in advance for the replies! Had fairly extensive surgery on my nose a month ago with a rib graft to replace the septum and add turbinate support for primarily the right nostril to promote a clear airway. The surgery went well, although the recovery period is pretty long, 3-4 months. Thus far ...

Re: Medical Marijuana

One of my kids SO works in the industry. So yes I worked with someone knowledgeable on the subject. I tried topicals first. It did nothing for me. I'm glad it worked for your mom. I've heard lots of good things but sadly it didn't help me. Fair enough, and coming off surgery I have found no pain re...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Careful with marijuana because it suppresses REM sleep. If you don't believe me smoke it for a long time then stop and watch the REM rebound hard. In support of your statement: Low doses of THC (4 to 20 mg) mildly decreased REM sleep in both regular users and nonusers. Interestingly, deep sleep was...

Has the improvement been in obstructive or central apneas?
I've seen improvements in both, but primarily reduced the number of central apneas.

Re: Medical Marijuana

I lived in a state where recreational was legal I tried both the balance (equal amounts of cbd and thc ) and the elevate (higher thc) tinctures (Strainz brand) and it did nothing for my arthritis. I also tried cbd only. None of it ever felt like it did anything. Not sure if you were working with a ...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Unfortunately, many things that can seriously damage our sleep can also give us a false sense of improved sleep. That can make anecdotal accounts more misleading than helpful. Alcohol is a prime example of that fact. There's a great deal of sunshine between alcohol and marijuana for improving sleep...

Re: Medical Marijuana

I am experiencing some pretty positive results with some low dose 2.5mg THC edibles in the evenings. I've had several 0 AHI nights and all have been below 1 when I take these small gummies. Normally my AHI is in the 2-3 range, and I just feel a lot more well-rested using cannabis. There's a lot of c...

Re: Introduction and thanks

Super stoked, although it almost seems to be an April Fools joke. Loving the Scunci accessory and if I could just get the frame not to shift I would be golden.

Thanks for all the help along the way to get here.

Re: New CPAP user serious Issue with feelings of depression and anxiety

Hey Chuck, Can you post some of the results of your sleep study and where therapy has taken you? There is a range of things that can make us feel depressed and cause anxiety, so it's difficult to frame without knowing what therapy has changed. I too have been presented with these challenges of depre...

Re: PR Dream Wisp

I haven't looked at it closely enough to see which parts are interchangeable with the other DreamWear products and I won't be testing this one out. I had a horrible experience with the original Wisp and have no interest in spending money on this mask so it won't be something I will be reporting on....

Re: SH chart - what is happening here?

Just wanted to post a note that the Scunci thing has worked awesome for me. Having been looking for a solution to the occasional blowouts and mouth breathing, the Scunci has worked great. Taping or a chin strap was just absolute nightmares and I would wake up a couple of times from discomfort or pan...
