Cleaning CPAP Post COVID
I tried to search this out and found an old COVID cleaning thread from 2020 that reflects 2020. I wanted to see if there is anything new in 2022 and after a couple of more years of experience with the virus. I just tested negative after 18 days (Paxlovid rebound) and want to cleanup my CPAP equipmen...

Re: Dreamstations On Sale - Any Idea Why?
That is a bit discouraging (understatement) and makes the peer-reviewed studies that come out after the fact all the more important. My experience has been that reviews from knowledgeable users are more valuable, more timely, and much less expensive than any peer-reviewed study. Fortunately I liste...

Re: Philips DreamStation Recall ?
The recall notice specifies the foam INSULATION, which is not in the path of airflow. Unless some chimp has opened it up; or hooked it up to a SoClean. As long as the age and run hours are moderate, your machine should be usable. I got a good chuckle with the chimp image. Am I wrong about this? I t...

Re: Dreamstations On Sale - Any Idea Why?
You would think the algorithm would be the most difficult part to change given the testing, approval process and peer reviewed papers that would need to be written to really sell it. CPAP machines are FDA Class II devices. The process for marketing a modified algorithm is much simpler than what you...

Re: Philips DreamStation Recall ?
So far, no unwanted health effects have been reported. Absolutely none at all. Except perhaps for the emotional distress felt by innumerable P/R owners. They will probably be getting mail from ambulance-chasing lawyers, very soon. Please remain calm. Do not respond to the shysters. Contin...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I didn’t know this board was associated with cpap.com. This is completely unsolicited and I don’t often write these kind of things. I recently bought my dreamstatiom from cpap.com. Every single person I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable, extremely helpful and did what they said they were going ...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I noticed this in the FAQ section of the recall update in answer to the questions: "How did this happen, and what is Philips doing to ensure it will not happen again?" "Philips has a robust Quality Management System and has followed our review and analysis processes to help identify and address thi...

Re: Dreamstations On Sale - Any Idea Why?
I really like the new latest and greatest in tech. I really dont know i that applies to CPAP, I dont know how much they can improve it. I dont think the algorithm would change in a new model. Maybe Phillips will have a better way of auto starting so i dont have to take so many deep breaths to start...

Dreamstations On Sale - Any Idea Why?
I'm seeing a big sale on Philips Dreamstation Autos. Is this something that they do from time to time or does anyone know if they are clearing inventory for a new model?

Re: Need Help Problem After 1 Year - Please Review
My CPAP was plugged in behind the bed and the plug came loose from the socket. So the CPAP was stopping every night. It took me a little while to figure out that was the problem. I could see that happening and ripping off the mask while still mostly asleep. Any chance that could be the issue? Plugg...

Re: Need Help Problem After 1 Year - Please Review
For the past month I've been taking my mask off after 1 hour (almost exactly) Why do you take off the mask? Therein lies the rub. I have no recollection at all of doing it - just that it happens with precise timing between 1:50 and 2:05 of falling asleep (when I look at myAir). It's especially disc...

Re: Need Help Problem After 1 Year - Please Review
This is still happening. I only ever get between 1:50 and 2:05 minutes with the mask each night and feel like I've lost all therapeutic value from the machine. Any help is greatly appreciated. Would a med from the sleep doctor help?

Need Help Problem After 1 Year - Please Review
I've been doing pretty well for the past year on CPAP averaging >6 hours per night with an AHI < 1.0 using an AirFit F20. For the past month I've been taking my mask off after 1 hour (almost exactly) and when I put it back on at my minimum pressure it feels like I'm sticking my nose out the car win...

Which CPAP Wipes?
I recently switched from the AirFit 20 to the AirTouch F20 so my days of using soap and water on my mask are over (for now). For routine mask cleaning I would use regular dish detergent (non anti-bac) and water to push whatever might have gotten on the mask off of the mask including bacteria and vir...

Re: Philips Respironics DreamStation
I had a Dreamstation for about four weeks. When I picked it up the RT said it needed to be plugged directly into the wall - not a power strip or extension cord - because of these kinds of problems (my interpretation). I don't know if this would apply to your situation.
