Re: Mostly central apneas! What happened to me?

Now, you've got a perfectly good APAP machine. Why are you running it at a constant pressure. I'd, set it to a minimum 6cm and leave the max at 20cm. With your numbers, I doubt the pressure will ever go much higher anyway. CA's don't influence pressure increases. I did try APAP for a couple of week...

What do you think raising your fixed pressure each night will do for you?...NOTHING! You can't fix CA's with more pressure. Do you even know what your CA's are?
Actually, I wasn't raising my pressure... I was lowering it as far as possible without having OAs re-appear...

Re: Mostly central apneas! What happened to me?

I am sorry that you are not feeling well. Your centrals are insignificant. I would be more concerned with the short duration of your sleep causing you to feel poorly. Please try sleeping longer. Yeah I agree with the short duration. I have never managed to sleep longer than 5hs in my adult life, an...

Mostly central apneas! What happened to me?

Hey guys and gals! How are you? I've been wearing my APAP for almost 4 months now, and for the first month and a half, I felt awesome! That even motivated me to start losing weight. I wasn't morbidly obese, however I had about 40 extra lbs (give or take). Since I started dieting and excercising, I m...

Need help Pulse Oximeter ASAP!

Hey everybody! I may not have clarified this about myself, so, I’ll do so now. I’m from Argentina, and if you haven’t heard from it, then you are lucky. Needless to say acquiring cpap related products, and even the cpap itself was a nightmare. So fast forward to today. I came to the USA on business,...

Re: Ramp issue. Is my machine faulty?

Yeah, all the hyperbole about the air... 7.5 is *nothing*. stick a straw 3 inches in a drink and blow bubbles, that's 7.5cm. Though "air bazooka" is a new one. 18/13 here... and up. How the hell do you sleep with those pressures? It may also be because I seem to be still “adjusting”, it’s been only...

Re: Ramp issue. Is my machine faulty?

The machine can't see if you are asleep or not..it uses your breathing pattern.. Why not just set the ramp yourself. Set it to start at 4 and move up to your minimum pressure over 15 minutes. You really are not getting a "blast" of air at 7.5. Most of us don't use ramp at all. Mine starts at 13 as ...

Ramp issue. Is my machine faulty?

Hey guys and gals! Thanks for all the advice you’ve been giving me so far! I am actually enjoying it, and it’s made the whole xPAP thing a little cooler (if that makes any sense). I seem to have a problem with my Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. I have set the RAMP option as “automatic” because I’d read ...

Re: Newbie needing advice tweaking stuff!

For some particular reason, I can’t seem to get rid of the central apneas. It is driving me insane! Dont know if I should pay attention to it or not, You can't do anything about them with this machine...so quit trying. Hold your breath for 10 seconds...that's a 10 second central apnea...a few of th...

Re: Newbie needing advice tweaking stuff!

well miracles can happen but they do not happen too often. by the way you have two periods where you are sleeping ok. Between 2:25 to 2:45 and between 4:40 and 5:10 look at the flow rate graph. The pressure for these periods is around 7. I would, like PR said, set the min pressure between 7 and 8 a...

Newbie needing advice tweaking stuff!

Hey guys and gals! First of all, let me say, WOW!!! You guys really seem to know your stuff. After speaking hours on end with my Dr, and reading this forum, I can conclusively and scientifically say he doesn’t know sh$t!!!! Long story short, I went to the sleep clinic because of excessive daytime sl...
