Re: UARS - my self therapy

I have stopped to use it for now. The lab told me it isn’t respiratory related and that they had checked for UARS and I don’t have it. I should check for neurological reasons at a clinic. After two weeks, I still had trouble to sleep with the machine and I felt more tired than without. My insurance ...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

Years old might be a bit exaggerated. It’s two years old.

What would you say about it, if it were two weeks old?

Just grasping at straws here...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

*push* Sorry in advance for pushing this back up. But I would be interested to hear from some of the experts here about the above mentioned results. I'm still waiting for my insurance to approve the sleep study at an other lab and until I get the appointment there it can take weeks or months, so I'm...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

I've got the reports from the first sleep study few years back. The home sleep test has the following interesting points: Hours of sleep: about 6 AHI: 16,3 (Desaturation correlated: 8,3) Apneas: 11 Hypopneas: 101 No snoring SpO2 desaturations: 59 Lowest Sp02: 88% The sleep lab report says (PSG): Hou...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

hey @pugsy, thanks for your advice, thats very helpful! I've got back to the sleep lab, which I visited 3 years ago. They immediately responded and had a look at my data again. They said they have looked for UARS, but it came back negative. I slept really bad though back then and as you say it's tri...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

Thanks @okie for the explanation. Would you say, that in an healthy person, with no sleep apnea or breathing problems those flow limitations or resulting pressure raises wouldn't exist, or at least only on a minimal level? ... Just trying to figure out if my flow limitations could be an indicator fo...

Re: No condensation -> Holy Grail or Reality?

How do you know if condensation is building up in the mask or hose?

Had some problems the last few nights, where I had the feeling that the air I breath in isn't as fresh and as much as it could be and thought maybe it's due to condensation...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

Thanks @palerider. *Update* Tried to sleep tonight with an improvised headband to keep my mouth shut. It worked pretty good for one hour. No leaks, no CAs, no dry mouth and my sleep tracker says I went into deep sleep. Woke up after one hour though and the band felt very uncomfortable. Probably too ...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

New milestone! I slept the whole night with the machine. Woke up couple of times, but I managed to kept it on. Don't feel very well today, but also not that much worse than on some other bad days without cpap. Still got some leaks, a lot of flow limitations and also a couple of central apneas. Are t...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

Good luck with your therapy!
Can you post a sleepyhead screenshot with your flow limitations. I still get them too.

Re: UARS - my self therapy

Thanks for your reply. Helps a lot to hear from others.
Did you stopped CPAP, because you couldn't sleep through the night? Or is UARS keeping you awake?
Because without CPAP I actually don't have any "obvious" sleep problems.

Re: UARS - my self therapy

I increased the pressure to 7.6 this night. Breathing was ok and the Flow Limitations went down a bit. I also used this: https://faceformer.de/en/ to seal my mouth. It's a device to train your tongue and pressure of your lips. Should be helpful for snoring. The sealing worked pretty good... however ...

Re: UARS - my self therapy

Thanks I'll try tonight.

btw. could the flow limitation be an other indicator towards UARS... or is a flow limitation rather normal when falling asleep and it's just how one responds to it, by either sleeping through it or waking up (arousal).

Re: UARS - my self therapy

Here a three from the last nights. Thanks! Woke up at the end with a dry mouth. Was sleeping maybe around 22:22... screenshot-20190130-075945. Same here, woke up at around 1:00 with dry mouth screenshot-20190130-080000.png This was probably the best night so far... again woke up at the end with dry ...

Re: Sleep tracking in fitbit versa and too little REM sleep

I have a FitbIt Alta HR and I find it to be quite accurate... My deep sleep and REM sleep is also always below the benchmark, or just slightly touching. This corresponds to some nightly video recording I did. My girl friend also used it for a couple of nights, and here values are perfect, hitting th...
