Re: Oral Masks vs Nasal

What about seeing a different ENT? One who comes highly recommended and will spend some time taking a comprehensive approach to your issues and will perform a nasopharyngoscopy. A nasopharyngoscopy is standard in many practices where the patient presents with your symptoms or less. They do it in th...

Re: Oral Masks vs Nasal

feels like hot lava rocks up in the bottom of my throat (tonsils?) . You might be mouthbreathing with your nasal mask. This could dry out your throat and your mouth. Do you have dry mouth? Do you know that mouthbreathing with a nasal mask often causes the CPAP pressure to drop and apneas to occur? ...

Re: Oral Masks vs Nasal

I have similar issues with nasal passage swelling and have been using the CPAP for over 15 years. I’ve been planning to have the turbinate reduction for a while as a solution. According to the ENT, if Afrin eliminates your symptoms then the turbinate reduction might be a very good solution. I have ...

Oral Masks vs Nasal

So, with the problems I'm having and ENT wanting to jump to Turbinate Reduction, and resetting nose, etc to try and stop the CPAP blown up issues I've had for years, (allergies , throat killing me, etc). Should I side track a min and try an oral mask before we 100% say "CPAP aint for me(right now?)" ?

Lots of specialists in Dallas. Drive a couple hours and find one.
With Medicaid you need a referral to see a new specialist. (I was already established about 2 years ago with ENT for something that happened to ears at that time).

Re: Well went to ENT, instead of helping on relief..

I'd try anything and everything before surgery! Those who I know that have had nasal surgery regret it: cost a lot, painful, and didn't fix the original problem(s). That's what I figured. I'm going to get the ears fixed, minor problem he found, and tell him I'm just not ready to commit to surgery y...

Well went to ENT, instead of helping on relief..

He wants to do surgeries on the nose to set it halfway, wide it by tubular surgery (I think is what he said), and get the airway open up more.. Rather than give advice on the whole "I'm being ate up by the cold air and it's irritating my sinus, throat, and lung(s)" thing I went in for. Then if that ...

Re: Green Pus Pockets?

I am extremely sensitive to silicone which is what my full face mask is made of and broke out something fierce wherever it touched my skin. I solved the problem by covering the silicone with moleskin. Overnight success. Do you think you might have the same sensitivity to your mask? That or staph in...

Re: Green Pus Pockets?

If they are where the mask puts pressure across the bridge and side of nose, I'd be concerned about pressure sores. Had that happen to me. I would not play around with anything infectious near the sinuses, thus the brain. Maybe you can explore using a nasal pillows style or if a full face is needed...

Green Pus Pockets?

Anyone ever had green pus pockets around the nose from wearing the mask? Sore as can be and show up every few days ?

Could this reaction be part of what is going on with inside of nose, throat, lung ?

Should I let the "DME" know this is a continued problem Monday ?

This is where we are confusing "Walking pneumonia" with pneumonia. He said I got "Walking pneumonia" but not pneumonia. They said all the cillins wont work against Mycoplasma is why they want me to take the Zpac. https://www.webmd.com/lung/walking-pneumonia#1 Also he said the pulmonolgist , who I w...

Re: pneumonitis

Shortly after I started cpap back in June of 2012, I got a bad cough. It cleared after a couple weeks. At first I wondered if it was due to teh cpap since I was new at it. I deep cleaned everything, but never found any real cause. It came back worse in July and lasted 8 weeks. I went to the doctor ...
